Harry Escott and Roger Goula are composing the music for ITV’s upcoming drama series The Frankenstein Chronicles. The show is created by Benjamin Ross (RKO 281, The Young Poisoner’s Handbook) & Barry Langford and stars Sean Bean, Anna Maxwell Martin, Charlie Creed-Miles, Ed Stoppard, Elliot Cowan, Hugh O’Conor, Joe Tucker, Kate Dickie, Lalor Roddy, Patrick Fitzsymons and Richie Campbell. The six-part series follows an inspector who investigates a series of crimes in 19th Century London, which may have been committed by a scientist intent on re-animating the dead.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Inside Out directed by Pete Docter and featuring the voices of Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, Lewis Black and Phyllis Smith. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Jurassic World, Star Trek). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the comedy drama Dope written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa and starring Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori, Kiersey Clemons, Kimberly Elise, A$AP Rocky, Blake Anderson, Keith Stanfield, Chanel Iman, Quincy Brown and Zoë Kravitz. Pharrell Williams has written the movie’s original songs performed by the fictional band Awreeoh. Also included and Germaine Franco has composed the film’s original score. Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Awreeoh, Digital Underground, Naughty By Nature, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Public Enemy & more. Harry Escott to Score BBC’s ‘River’
Harry Escott is composing the music for the upcoming BBC original series River. The show is written and created by Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady, Shame, The Invisible Woman) and stars Stellan Skarsgård, Nicola Walker, Adeel Akhtar, Lesley Manville, Eddie Marsan, Sorcha Cusack and Georgina Rich. The drama follows a brilliant police officer whose genius and fault-line is the fragility of his mind – a man haunted by the murder victims whose cases he must lay to rest. Morgan is also executive producing the project with Jane Featherstone (Broadchurch, Life on Mars), Manda Levin and Lucy Richer (Top of the Lake, The Hour).
‘The Face of an Angel’ Soundtrack Details
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for Michael Winterbottom’s The Face of an Angel. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy, A Might Heart, Welcome to the Punch). Also included is Mi Fido Di Te performed by Lorenzo “Jovanotti” Cherubini. The soundtrack will be released overseas on March 30, 2015 and is now available as an import on Amazon. No word yet on a domestic release date. The Face of an Angel stars Daniel Brühl, Kate Beckinsale, Valerio Mastandrea and Cara Delevingne. The movie tells the story of the killing of British student Meredith Kercher in Italy and the resulting trial of her flatmate, American student Amanda Knox.
Harry Escott Scoring Michael Winterbottom’s ‘The Face of an Angel’
Harry Escott is reteaming with director Michael Winterbottom on the upcoming drama The Face of an Angel. The movie stars Daniel Bruhl, Kate Beckinsale, Cara Delevingne, Valerio Mastandre, Rosie Fellner, Alistair Petrie and The film follows a troubled filmmaker who is researching a sensational murder trial in Italy. As he sees the victim forgotten in the media frenzy, he is inspired to reconnect with his own daughter. Paul Viragh (Ashes, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll) has written the screenplay based on the book Angel Face about the Amanda Knox trial by Barbie Latza Nadeau. Melissa Parmenter (The Trip, The Look of Love) is producing the BBC Films production. Escott has previously co-scored Winterbottom’s 2006 documentary The Road to Guantanamo and the 2007 drama A Mighty Heart starring Angelina Jolie with Molly Nyman.
Harry Escott Scoring ‘New Worlds’ Mini-Series
Harry Escott is currently recording his score for the upcoming mini-series New Worlds. The historical drama is written and created by Peter Flannery (Funny Bones, Our Friends In The North) & Martine Brant and stars Jamie Dornan, Freya Mavor, Alice Englert and Joe Dempsie. The four-parter is set in the 1680s during the Restoration period and follows the bitter struggles of two young men and two young women caught up in the events of the time in England and America. Charles Martin (Skins, Run) is directing the series and Johann Knobel (Shameless) is producing the Channel 4 production. Flannery, Brant and John Yorke are executive producing for Company Pictures. The project is the follow-up to 2008’s mini-series The Devil’s Whore starring Andrea Riseborough, Michael Fassbender & Dominic West, which featured a score by Murray Gold (Doctor Who). Escott’s previous scoring credits include Steve McQueen’s Shame, David Slade’s Hard Candy and last year’s Welcome to the Punch.

Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Already in theaters since yesterday is the action sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Dwayne Johnson, D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis. The film’s score is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). Varese Sarabande Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music digitally. Also opening wide is the sci-fi romance The Host directed by Andrew Niccol, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer and starring Saoirse Ronan, Jake Abel, Max Irons, William Hurt, Diane Kruger, Chandler Canterbury and Frances Fisher. Antonio Pinto (City of God, Snitch) has composed the film’s original score. Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Imagine Dragons, Hudson Taylor, Skylar Grey, Ellie Goulding, Hudson Taylor, Duologue and Jamie N Commons, as well as one track from Pinto’s music. ‘Welcome to the Punch’ Soundtrack Details
Metropolis Movie Music will release a soundtrack album for the crime thriller Welcome to the Punch. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy). The soundtrack will be released digitally in the UK on March 11, 2013. No word yet on a domestic release date. Welcome to the Punch is written and directed by Eran Creevy and stars James McAvoy as a detective who forms an unlikely union with a criminal as they uncover a conspiracy. Mark Strong, Andrea Riseborough and Peter Mullan are co-starring. The thriller executive produced by Ridley Scott is set to be released on March 15 in the UK. IFC Films has picked up U.S. rights and has scheduled a theatrical release on March 27 followed by a VOD and digital release on March 30.

While there are no movies opening wide this weekend, a number of films are receiving a limited release:
The most talked about movie opening this week is the drama Shame directed by Steve McQueen and starring Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale, Nicole Beharie and Hannah Ware. The film’s score is composed by Harry Escott. A soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the score, as well as several songs from the film performed by artists including Blondie, Howlin’ Wolf and actress Carey Mulligan will be released on December 6 by Sony Music. Receiving an Oscar qualifying run this weekend before opening wider next year is the drama The Lady directed by Luc Besson and starring Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis. The film’s music is written by the director’s regular musical collaborator Eric Serra. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the song Soldier of Love by Sade has been released overseas by Strategic Marketing Group. ‘Welcome to the Punch’ to Feature Music by Harry Escott
Eaton Music has announced that composer Harry Escott is set to score the upcoming British crime thriller Welcome to the Punch. The movie is directed by Eran Creevy and stars James McAvoy as a detective who forms an unlikely union with a criminal as they uncover a conspiracy. Mark Strong, Andrea Riseborough and Peter Mullan are co-starring in the film. Ridley Scott is executive producing via Scott Free Productions and Rory Aitken & Ben Pugh (Shifty), as well as Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Insidious) are the producers of the project. Escott previously collaborated with Creevy on the director’s 2008 feature debut Shifty, for which the filmmaker was nominated for a BAFTA award.
