Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Aaron Sorkin’s Amazon original movie Being the Ricardos. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Birds of Prey, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Enola Holmes, Ocean’s 8). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 3 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Being the Ricardos is written and directed by Sorkin and stars Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, Desi Arnaz, J.K. Simmons, Nina Arianda,Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jake Lacy and Clark Gregg. The drama follows Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz as the are threatened by shocking personal accusations, a political smear and cultural taboos during one critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy.

Soundtrack Album for National Geographic’s ‘The Rescue’ Documentary to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary The Rescue. The album features the film’s original score by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Birds of Prey, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ocean’s 8, Enola Holmes). Also included is the original song Believe co-written (with Pemberton & Gary Go) and performed by Aloe Blacc. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 19 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The Rescue is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin (Free Solo) and chronicles the the daring rescue of twelve boys and their coach from deep inside a flooded cave in Northern Thailand in 2018.
Daniel Pemberton Named Film Composer of the Year at 2021 World Soundtrack Awards
Daniel Pemberton was named Film Composer of the Year at the 21st World Soundtrack Awards, tonight’s closing event of the 48th Ghent Film Festival, for his scores for Aaron Sorkins’ The Trial of the Chicago 7, Harry Bradbeer’s Enola Holmes and the documentary Rising Phoenix. He previously received his first World Soundtrack Award in the Discovery of the Year category back in 2014. Carlos Rafael Rivera was honored as TV Composer of the Year today for his score for the Netflix limited series The Queen’s Gambit (for which he recently received his second Emmy Award) and HBO’s Hacks.

Composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Birds of Prey, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Enola Holmes, Ocean’s 8) is reteaming with writer/director Aaron Sorkin on the upcoming biographical drama Being the Ricardos. The film is written and directed by Sorkin and stars Nicole Kidman as iconic comedienne Lucille Ball and Javier Bardem as her husband Desi Arnaz. Nina Arianda, J.K. Simmons, Tony Hale, Alia Shwkat, Jake Lacy and Clark Gregg are also starring in the movie, which takes place during a week of production of the classic TV show I Love Lucy and explores the relationship between Ball and Arnaz as they face a set of crises that could end both their careers and their marriage.

The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the 25th James Bond movie No Time to Die directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and starring Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Rami Malek, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Billy Magnussen, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original score is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, The Lion King) and produced by Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, The Rhythm Section). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the title song co-written and performed by Billie Eilish last week. Opening semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters is the supernatural horror movie Lamb co-written and directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson and starring Noomi Rapace, Hilmir Snær Gudnason, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Ingvar Sigurdsson. Tóti Guðnason has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday, October 15. The show is created by Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) and stars Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Dave Franco, Jamie Demetriou and John Early. The 8-part-murder mystery comedy is set at a high school reunion afterparty, with each episode featuring a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective.

Daniel Pemberton to Return for ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Sequel
Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Birds of Prey, Enola Holmes, Motherless Brooklyn, The Trial of the Chicago 7) has confirmed that he will be returning to score the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel. The animated film will be directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Voltron: Legendary Defender) and is being written by David Callahm (Wonder Woman 1984, The Expendables, Zombieland: Double Tap). No plot details have been announced yet. Shameik Moore will return as the voice of Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld is set to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman.
