Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the thriller Happy Death Day. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, Colossal). The soundtrack will be released digitally next week and physically on October 20. The CD version will be available for pre-order on Amazon within the next couple of days. Happy Death Day is directed by Christopher Landon and stars Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken and Laura Clifton. The movie follows a college student who must relive the same day over and over again on her birthday and figure out who attempts to kill her at her party every time and why.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges. ‘Unrest’ Soundtrack Details
Sparks & Shadows will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Unrest. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica, Colossal, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 22, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Unrest tells the story of Harvard PhD student Jennifer Brea (who also directed the movie) who is struck down at 28 by a mysterious fever that leaves her bedridden. When doctors tell her “it’s all in her head,” she turns her camera on herself to document her devastating symptoms.

Rebel in the Rye is written and directed by Strong and stars Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Spacey, Sarah Paulson, Zoey Deutch, Hope Davis and Victor Garber. The movie centers on the life and mind of reclusive author J.D. Salinger and goes from the bloody front lines of World War II to his early rejections and the PTSD-fueled writer’s block that led to his iconic novel, The Catcher in the Rye.
Bear McCreary to Score Scott Speer’s ‘Break My Heart 1000 Times’
Bear McCreary is currently scoring the upcoming supernatural romantic thriller Break My Heart 1000 Times. The film is directed by Scott Speer (Step Up Revolution, Midnight Sun) and stars Bella Thorne, Dermot Mulroney and Richard Harmon. The movie based on the novel by Daniel Waters is set after a cataclysmic event that has allowed ghost-like beings named Remnants to co-exist with the living and revolves around a Remnant who threatens the life of a young woman, propelling her on an adventure. Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift, Pan) wrote the screenplay.
Bear McCreary Scoring ‘Tau’
Bear McCreary has recently composed the music for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Tau. The film is directed by Federico D’ Alessandro and stars Maika Monroe and Ed Skrein. The movie a woman who is held captive in a futuristic smart house and hopes to escape by breaking into the computer programs that control the house. Noga Landau wrote the screenplay. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) is producing the project with Kevin Turen (The Birth of a Nation, Arbitrage, 99 Homes), Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder.

Bear McCreary to Score ‘Half to Death’
Bear McCreary revealed in a recent interview with Film Music Magazine that he is scoring the upcoming horror thriller Half to Death. The film is directed by Christopher Landon (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, screenwriter of Disturbia) and stars Jessica Rothe, Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken and Rachel Matthews. Landon also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Lobdell. The movie follows a woman who must solve the mystery of her own murder before her chances run out.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Colossal.
