The details of the soundtrack album for the National Geographic original event nature documentary series Lion have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Gladiator, Dune, Inception, Rain Man, Pirates of the Caribbean), Niccolò Pacella & George Hutson Warren and produced by Bleeding Fingers’ Russell Emanuel, with additional vocals from the Nairobi Chamber Chorus. Zimmer, Andrew Christie & Lebo M have written the series’ main theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 21 by Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. National Geographic announced today that Hans Zimmer (Interstellar, Dune, Inception, The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rain Man, Man of Steel) has teamed up with Bleeding Fingers Music’s Niccolò Pacella & George Hutson Warren to score the new National Geographic original documentary series Lion. The Nairobi Chamber Chorus has provided additional vocals and Lebo M (The Lion King) & Andrew Christie (Prehistorical Planet, The Americas) have written the theme, alongside Zimmer, for the show, which is narrated by O.J. Lynch and chronicles the remarkable four-year journey of a tiny lion cub named Kio as he becomes a king. Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Elf) who has previously collaborated with Zimmer on 2019’s The Lion King remake is executive producing the project with BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s creative director Mike Gunton (Planet Earth II, Dynasties).

The full details of the soundtrack album for the NBC nature documentary series The Americas have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Dune, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception), Anže Rozman (Prehistoric Planet, Beckham, Universe, The Planets) & Kara Talve (The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Prehistoric Planet, Faraway Downs, The Simpsons. Also included is the main theme written by Zimmer & Andrew James Christie (previously released released as a digital single), as well as Brandi Carlile’s original song Wandering (also already out now). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 21 by Back Lot Music (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). The Americas is executive produced by Mike Gunton, narrated by Tom Hanks and explores the worlds and wildlife of North and South America.

The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Anže Rožman (The Planets, Great Bear Rainforests, Universe), Kara Talve (Perpetual Planet: Heroes of the Oceans) and Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Dune). Zimmer & Andrew James Christie (The Flood) have written the Prehistoric Planet Theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally this coming Monday, May 22 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released the composers’ music from Season 1 last year.
Hans Zimmer Scoring Apple TV+’s ‘Prehistoric Planet’
Hans Zimmer is composing original music for the upcoming Apple TV+ natural history series Prehistoric Planet. The composer is co-scoring the show with Anze Rozman (The Planets, Universe) and Kara Talve (Perpetual Planet: Heroes of the Oceans) for Bleeding Fingers Music. He also co-wrote the series’ theme with Andrew Christie (The Flood) for Bleeding Fingers Music. The 5-part documentary is narrated by Sir David Attenborough and recreates the last days of the dinosaurs and uses CGI to take viewers back in time, experiencing the wonders of planet Earth 66 million years ago. Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Mandalorian, The Jungle Book) and Mike Gunton (Dynasties, The Green Planet) are executive producing the project from BBC Studios’ Bristol-based Natural History Unit.
Soundtrack Album for BBC Earth’s ‘The Planets’ Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC Earth docu-series The Planets. The album features selections of the original music composed by Anže Rozman (Great Bear Rainforest) and Andrew Christie (The Flood), as well as Jacob Shea (Seven Worlds One Planet, Planet Earth II) and David Fleming (Hillbilly Elegy, Blue Planet II) for Bleeding Fingers Music. Clinton Shorter (District 9, Contraband, 2 Guns, The Expanse, Pompeii, Colony) is composing the original music of the third season and follows Joel J. The album features the music from the television event composed by Austin Fray & Andrew Christie for Bleeding Fingers Music. They have collaborated with the rock band X Ambassadors on several tracks. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 20 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples.
