Adam Wingard announced on Twitter that Atticus Ross and Leopold Ross are scoring the upcoming Netflix original movie Death Note. The film is directed by Wingard and stars Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Lakeith Stanfield, Willem Dafoe and Shea Whigham. The movie is based on the Japanese manga and follows a young man as he begins killing those he deems unworthy of life when he is intoxicated by the power of a supernatural notebook.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller Blair Witch directed by Adam Wingard (The Guest, You’re Next) and starring James Allen McCune, Callie Hernandez, Brandon Scott, Valorie Curry, Corbin Reid and Wes Robinson. Wingard has also composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the movie’s score. Also opening wide is the biographical drama Snowden directed by Oliver Stone and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans and Nicolas Cage. The film’s original music is composed by Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, World Trade Center) and Adam Peters (Savages) has contributed additional music. The album features the film’s original music composed by director Adam Wingard (The Guest, You’re Next) who makes his feature scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 16, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical version will released a few weeks later and can be pre-ordered here. J-2 Music will release a soundtrack album for Adam Wingard’s thriller The Guest. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Stevie B, Love and Rockets, Annie, Survive, Mike Simonetti, Gatekeeper, Sisters of Mercy and Clan of Xymox. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 16, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. The Guest is directed by Wingard (You’re Next), written by Simon Barrett and stars Dan Stevens, Maika Monroe, Brendan Meyer, Sheila Kelley, Leland Orser, Lance Reddick and Chase Williamson. The movie follows a young soldier who arrives on the doorstep of the Peterson family, claiming to be a good friend of their beloved son who died in action. The thriller premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was picked up by Picturehouse for a domestic release on September 19.
