‘Jacinta’ Soundtrack Released

Konsonant Records has released a soundtrack album for the Hulu original documentary Jacinta. The album features the film’s original music composed by Gil Talmi (The Great Hack, All In: The Fight for Democracy, SavannahDesert Migration). Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack. Jacinta is directed and produced by Jessica Earnshaw and follows a young woman who struggles to find stability amid years of addiction and reconnect with the daughter she left behind. Chris Benstead is reteaming with director Guy Ritchie (Snatch, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) on the upcoming spy thriller Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre. The film starring Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone and Hugh Grant follows a super spy who recruits Hollywood’s biggest movie star to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by a billionaire arms broker. Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for Pedro Almodóvar’s Spanish drama Parallel Mothers (Madres paralelas). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier SpyThe Kite RunnerThe Constant Gardener, Pain & Glory, Volver, Talk to Her). Also included are two classic pieces by Janis Joplin and Miles Davis. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music stores), where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. A CD version is available on the label’s official website and will also be available to purchase on Amazon within the next couple of days. Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Runaways, Queenpins, Looking for Alaska) & Lauren Culjak (Long Weekend) have teamed up to score the upcoming Amazon original series With Love. The show is created by Gloria Calderón Kellett (One Day at a Time) and stars Emeraude Toubia, Mark Indelicato, Rome Flynn, Vincent Rodriguez, Desmond Chiam, Isis King, Constance Marie, Todd Grinnell and Benito Martinez. Each episode of the romantic comedy is set during a different holiday throughout the year and follow two siblings and their family as they experience the highs and lows of life during some of the most heightened days of the year. Premiering on Wednesday, October 13, is the Disney+ anthology series Just Beyond created by Seth Grahame-Smith inspired by the writings of R.L. Stine and starring Mckenna Grace, Leeann Ross, Nasim Pedrad, Gabriel Bateman, Arjun Athalye, Timothy Heidecker, Riki Lindhome, Parvesh Cheena, Henry Thomas, Rachel Marsh, Jy Prishkulnik, Megan Stott, Sally Pressman, Izabela Vidovic, Christine Ko, Lexi Underwood, Kate Baldwin, Cyrus Arnold, Logan Gray, Cedric Joe and Christine Young. The show’s original music is composed by Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit, Godless, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Hacks). Also premiering on Wednesday is the Hulu limited series Dopesick developed by Danny Strong and starring Michael Keaton,  Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Kaitlyn Dever, Will Poulter, Rosario Dawson and John Hoogenakker. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – FalloutBlack Widow, His Dark Materials, The LEGO Batman MovieBad Boys for Life, The Crown, The Tomorrow War) is composing the show’s original music. Grammy Award nominee Linda Perry (of the former rock band 4 Non Blondes) is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama Meet the Pumps. The singer/songwriter and film & TV composer will also serve as the music supervisor and an executive producer of the movie directed by Stephen David Brooks (Flytrap, Heads N Tailz) . The film will examine the rise, fall, and ultimate resurrection of charismatic lead singer, Antoinette “Toni” Sabo of the all-female LA punk band The Pumps. Brooks also co-wrote the screenplay with Mike “in Tokyo” Rogers. They are both also producing the project. Read the rest of this entry »

Milan Records will release a new soundtrack album for the musical drama Annette. The album features all the music from the film written by art-pop duo Sparks (Ron and Russell Mael), with lyrics co-written by the band and director Leos Carax, and performed by movie’s cast and Sparks themselves. Also included are six demos and unreleased tracks used during the conception of the film. The 2-CD set, which also includes a 28-page booklet containing all the lyrics of the songs. will be released on November 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A digital version is also expected to come out around the same time. The label has previously released the Cannes Edition featuring selections of the film’s music. The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the 25th James Bond movie No Time to Die directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and starring Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux,  Rami Malek, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris,  Jeffrey Wright, Billy Magnussen, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original score is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark KnightInception, Gladiator, The Lion King) and produced by Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, The Rhythm Section). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the title song co-written and performed by Billie Eilish last week. Opening semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters is the supernatural horror movie Lamb co-written and directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson and starring Noomi Rapace, Hilmir Snær Gudnason, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Ingvar Sigurdsson. Tóti Guðnason has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday, October 15. Decca Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the musical drama Cyrano. Available to stream/download now is Someone to Say written by Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner (of The National), with lyrics by Matt Berninger & Carin Besser and performed by lead actress Haley Bennett, Víkingur Ólafsson (on piano) and the London Contemporary Orchestra. Universal Pictures announced today that Ludwig Göransson (Black PantherCreed, The Mandalorian, VenomCommunity) will reteam with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Memento) on the director’s upcoming historical drama Oppenheimer. The film is written and directed by Nolan and will star Cillian Murphy in the title role of American physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird & Martin J.
