The details of the soundtrack album for the Cannes Edition soundtrack album for Leos Carax’s musical drama Annette have been revealed. The album features selections of the the music from the film written by legendary art-pop duo Sparks (Ron and Russell Mael), lyrics co-written by the band and Carax, and performed by Sparks and the cast of the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally in the U.S. on August 6 by Milan Records and will be available to stream/download here. A vinyl edition of the soundtrack is set to come out on August 27, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version (to be released overseas next month) is available to order as an import here. Two songs featured on the Cannes Edition (So May We Start & We Love Each Other So Much) are already available to stream/download now. Annette is co-written and directed by Carax and stars Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard, Simon Helberg and Devyn McDowell. The movie follows a stand-up comedian with a fierce sense of humor who falls in love with a world-renowned opera singer. The drama will premiere next week at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters on August 6 by Amazon Studios before making its streaming debut on August 20 on Amazon Prime.
