A24 Music will release the official soundtrack album for the drama The Inspection. The album features the original music from the film composed by the experimental pop band Animal Collective who made their narrative feature film scoring debut on the project. Sony Music Masterworks & Milan Records have announced the details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. The album features the Grammy Award-nominated songs from the original West End production written by Tim Minchin (Groundhog Day The Musical), newly recorded by the movie’s cast, including Alisha Weir (who stars in the title role), Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Andrea Riseborough and Stephen Graham. Deadline is reporting that the art-pop duo Sparks (Ron & Russell Mael) is developing an original movie musical for Focus Features. The film, entitled X Crucior, will be written and executive produced by the singer/songwriters. No director or plot details have been announced yet. The Sparks Brothers have previously composed the original songs for last year’s musical drama Annette directed by Leos Carax.
