Singer/songwriter, poet and political activist Michael Franti has composed the original music for the upcoming sports comedy Champions. The film is directed by Bobby Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary) and stars Woody Harrelson, Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson, Cheech Marin and Matt Cook. The movie is based on the 2018 Spanish feature Campeones and revolves around a former minor-league basketball coach who, after a series of missteps, is ordered by the court to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. Netflix Music has released the song Wild Dog from the Netflix original documentary series Gunther’s Millions. The new version of the track, which was first released in 1990 by Casablanca Records, is performed by Gunther Group and is now available to stream/download on most major digital music services, including Amazon. Gunther’s Millions is executive produced by Aurelien Leturgie & Emilie Dumay and centers on the world’s wealthiest pet. The 4-parter features interviews with Maurizio Mian who has built an empire on behalf of his canine boss and the rest of Gunther’s longtime associates in hopes of understanding the complicated truth behind the world’s richest dog. Netflix Music has released a full soundtrack album for the streamer’s animated series Princess Power. The album features ten songs from the show’s first season written by Alana Da Fonseca, JD Rende & Kathryn Raio-Rende. The label has previously released the theme song as a digital single and four of the other tracks on a digital EP earlier this month.
