Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi horror movie Alien: Romulus. The album features the film’s original music composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Twisters, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, The FlashHidden FiguresThe Invisible Man). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 16 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Composer/record producer Tony Doogan is reuniting with director David Mackenzie on the upcoming thriller Relay. The film is directed by David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water, Perfect Sense) and stars Riz Ahmed, Lily James, Sam Worthington and Willa Fitzgerald. The movie follows a middleman who specializes in brokering lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten their ruin, when he meets a new client who seeks his protection to stay alive. Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced the first-ever vinyl release of the score for the 1999 supernatural horror movie The Haunting directed by Jan de Bont and starring Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson and Lili Taylor. The 2-LP deluxe edition features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Patton, Basic Instinct) and will be available on a pressed on a Black/Gold/Grey Marble vinyl in North America and n Translucent Green vinyl, with brand-new artwork. Beyond C has released a new soundtrack album for the 2004 Japanese experimental animated feature Mind Game written and directed by Masaaki Yuasa and based on the manga of the same title created by Robin Nishi. The album features the film’s original music composed by Seiichi Yamamoto (Ichi the Killer, Adrenaline Drive) and the Mysterious Robot. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download internationally for the first time on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon, where you can also check out the track list. Deadline is reporting that Dave Stewart (of Eurythmics) is writing original songs for the upcoming movie musical Ebony McQueen. He will also co-score the film with A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Couples Retreat). Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, The Four Feathers) is set to direct the drama, which is based on Stewart’s album of the same name and is inspired by the rock musician’s 1960s-early ’70s teen years in the North East of England and the discs and soundtracks that sparked his journey to becoming a musician.
