Olivier Arson (The Candidate, Madre, The Beasts, Piggy, Riot Police, See You in Another Life, The Zone) has released a soundtrack EP for the Spanish/French drama The Beloved (El ser querido). The 6-track EP features the composer’s music from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to Arson’s title track after the jump. The Beloved is co-written and directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen and stars Javier Bardem, Victoria Luengo, Raúl Arévalo and Marina Foïs. The movie explores the relationship between an acclaimed film director and his daughter, a struggling actress who – after years of estrangement – collaborated on a movie and are forced to confront a troubled past neither of them has wanted to face.

‘See You in Another Life’ Soundtrack Album Released
Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish Disney+/Hulu limited series See You in Another Life (Nos vemos en otra vida). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Olivier Arson (The Candidate, The Beasts, Madre, Riot Police, Piggy, The Zone) & Abel Hernández. See You in Another Life is created by Jorge & Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo and stars Roberto Gutiérrez, Quim Ávila and Pol López as Emilio Trashorras. The 6-part crime drama adaptation of the book by Manuel Jabois based on the interview he conducted with Gabriel Montoya Vidal (“Baby”) about his link to the biggest jihadist attack committed on European soil on March 11, 2004.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror family comedy Haunted Mansion directed by Justin Simien and starring LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Chase W. Dillon, Rosario Dawson and Jamie Lee Curtis. The film’s original score is composed by Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, Secret Invasion, King Richard, Queen Charlotte). Also opening wide is the Australian supernatural horror thriller Talk to Me directed by Danny & Michael Philippou and starring Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Joe Bird and Miranda Otto. Cornel Wilczek (Clickbait, These Final Hours, Nowhere Boys) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed in the U.S. by A24.

Morena Films has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French horror thriller Piggy (Cerdita). The album features the film’s original music composed by Olivier Arson (The Candidate, The Zone, Riot Police, Apagon). Piggy is written and directed by Carlota Pereda and stars Laura Galán, Richard Holmes, Irene Ferreiro, Carmen Machi, Camille Aguilar, Claudia Salas and Pilar Castro. The movie is set in a rural Spanish town and follows a teenage girl who is the target of incessant bullying from a clique of mean girls and stumbles upon her tormentors being kidnapped by a mysterious stranger.

The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror thriller Come Play written and directed by Jacob Chase (based on his short story of the same title) and starring Azhy Robertson, Gillian Jacobs and John Gallagher Jr.. The film’s original music is composed by Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, In the Heart of the Sea, Evil Dead, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, The Machinist, Sexy Beast). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is in the works. Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French drama Madre. The album features the film’s original music composed by Olivier Arson (The Candidate, May God Save Us, The Zone). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Madre is co-written and directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen based on his Academy Award-nominated short of the same name and stars Marta Nieto, Jules Porier and Alex Brendemühl. The movie follows the title character ten years after her son has disappeared when she meets a teenager who reminds her of her missing son.
