Watertower Music will be releasing the official soundtrack album for the 3D fantasy film Wrath of the Titans. The album includes the original score from the movie by Academy Award-nominated composer Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth). The soundtrack will be released on March 27, 2012 and is now available to order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks on the album below. Wrath of the Titans is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and stars Sam Worthington who is reprising his turn as Perseus from the 2010 box office hit Clash of the Titans. Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the fantasy epic John Carter directed by Andrew Stanton and starring Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe, Lynn Collins, Thomas Haden Church, Samantha Morton, Dominic West, Mark Strong, James Purefoy and Bryan Cranston. The film’s music is composed by Michael Giacchino. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the family comedy A Thousand Words directed by Brian Robbins and starring Eddie Murphy, Ariel Winter, Kerry Washington and Allison Janney. John Debney who previously worked with the director on the sci-fi comedy Meet Dave has written the score for the movie. No soundtrack album has been announced. Rachel Portman is currently writing the music for the upcoming British drama Private Peaceful. The film is directed by Pat O’Connor and stars Jack O’Connell, George Mackay, Alexander Roach, Richard Griffiths and Frances de la Tour. The movie set in the fields of Devon and the WWI battlefields of Flanders is based on a novel by Michael Morpurgo (War Horse) and tells the story of two brothers who fall in love with the same girl. Simon Reade adapted the material for the screen and is also producing the film with Guy de Beaujeu. No word yet on whether any music by Mark Knopfler who was announced as the film’s composers by various news outlets last years will still be featured in the film. ’30° Couleur’ Soundtrack Details

SMART will be releasing a soundtrack album for the French comedy 30° couleur. The album includes the original score from the movie composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Time Machine), as well as the song Eye Abada by Asa. The soundtrack will be released digitally in France on March 12, 2012. No word yet on a domestic release. Jeff Rona is scoring the upcoming Cold War-set submarine thriller Phantom. The movie is written and directed by Todd Robinson (Lonely Hearts) and stars Ed Harris, David Duchovny, William Fichtner, Sean Patrick Flanery and Lance Henriksen. The movie revolves around a Captain of a Soviet submarine who has to leave his pregnant wife for a secret mission on which he is forced to face his past in order to find redemption in the present while being challenged by a rogue KGB group. John Watson & Pen Densham (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Backdraft) amd Julian Adams are producing the project. Film Score Monthly has released the world premiere CD release of the nearly complete score for the 1974 horror film It’s Alive written and directed by Larry Cohen and starring John Ryan and Sharon Farrell. The music is composed and conducted by Bernard Herrmann. The album includes almost 45 minutes of the score, as well as two bonus tracks. According to The Playlist, The Chemical Brothers are attached to score the upcoming heist movie Now You See Me. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher, Melanie Laurent, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Common. The movie follows a group of the world’s greatest illusionists who pull off daring bank heists during their performances. Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans, Fresh) and Edward Ricour have written the screenplay for the Summit Entertainment production. Intrada Records has announced a remastered soundtrack edition for the 1987 horror thriller classic Predator directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The album features the original score from the film by Alan Silvestri. The score has previously received limited editions releases by the label and Varese Sarabande, both of which sold out in record time. Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for Universal Pictures’ action tentpole release Battleship. The album includes the original score written by composer Steve Jablonsky (Transformers series). The soundtrack will be released on May 8, 2012. The cover art and track list will be published in a couple of weeks. Check back on this site for an update and audio clips from the score. Battleship is directed by Peter Berg (Hancock, Friday Night Lights) and stars Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Hamish Linklater and Rihanna. Werk Music has released a soundtrack album for the crime thriller Thin Ice. The album includes the original score from the movie composed by Jeff Danna (The Boondock Saints, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon.
