Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the indie romantic comedy Save the Date. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Wilco, Daniel Hart, Giorgio Moroder, Wolfbird, Houses, Nick Waterhouse, Arum Rae, Class Actress, The One AM Radio and Charles Bradley feat. Menahan Street Band. Also included is one track from the film’s score composed by Hrishikesh Hirway. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 6, 2012 and physically on November 20. A number of digital-only soundtrack albums by Metropolis Movie Music that have previously only been released overseas are coming out this week in the US. Among the titles is the soundtrack for the thriller The Samaritan. The album features the film’s score composed by Todor Kobakov. A couple of new TV shows are premiering this week:
Premiering on October 16 is the CW drama Emily Owens, M.D. created by Jennie Snyder Urman (Something Borrowed) and starring Mamie Gummer, Justin Hartley, Michael Rady, Aja Naomi King, Kelly McCreary and Necar Zadegan. The show’s score is composed by Jim Dooley (Pushing Daisies, When a Stranger Calls). The series follows a newly minted doctor looking for a fresh start in the adult professional world, who discovers that life at the hospital where she works is no different than high school. ‘Life of Pi’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for Ang Lee’s 3D adventure film Life of Pi have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mychael Danna (Moneyball, Little Miss Sunshine) who previously scored the director’s films The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil. The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2012 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Life of Pi starring Suraj Sharma, Shravanthi Sainath, Tabu and Gerard Depardieu follows a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and forms an unexpected connection with a fearsome Bengal tiger while marooned on a lifeboat. The details of the score album for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Carter Burwell who is scoring his third Twilight film following the 2008 original film and last year’s first Breaking Dawn movie. The soundtrack is currently scheduled to be released on November 19, 2012 by Atlantic Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the full track list after the jump. As previously reported, the label is also releasing a separate soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the film. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is directed by Bill Condon and starrs Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Five new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the political thriller Argo directed by Ben Affleck who also stars in the film with Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Victor Garber, Tate Donavan, Clea DuVall, Scoot McNairy, Rory Cochran, Christopher Denham, Chris Messina and Kyle Chandler. The film’s music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Sinister directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance, Fred Dalton Thompson, James Ransone, Clare Foley and Vincent D’Onofrio. Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3) has composed the film’s score. A soundtrack album featuring Young’s music is now available digitally and will be released on CD on October 30. ‘Stand Up Guys’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the crime comedy Stand Up Guys. The album features two new original songs by Jon Bon Jovi (Old Habits Die Hard, Not Running Anymore), as well as tracks by Baby Huey and The Babysitters, Gary Clark, Jr., Elvin Bishop, Muddy Waters and Wayne Cochran & CC Riders. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Lyle Workman (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Superbad). The soundtrack will be released on November 20, 2012. Stand Up Guys is directed by Fisher Stevens (The Cove) and stars Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin as retired gangster who reunite for one epic night. Varese Sarabande to Release Steve Jablonsky’s ‘Gangster Squad’ Score

According to the movie’s latest trailer and poster, Varese Sarabande will release a score album for Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad. The film’s music is composed by Steve Jablonksy (Transformers series, Desperate Housewives). No word yet on a release date, but the album is expected to come out around the film’s release in January of next year. In addition, WaterTower Music will release a separate soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs. Check back on this site for updates on both albums. Gangster Squad directed by Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes Or Less) stars Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi and Michael Pena. The movie about the events surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time will be released nationwide on January 11, 2013 by Warner Bros. ’28 Hotel Rooms’ Soundtrack Announced

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama 28 Hotel Rooms. The album features the film’s original score composed by Fall On Your Sword (Another Earth, Lola Versus), as well as the songs Look at You by Lindsey Haun and A Dask of Pixie Dust by Kirk Ross. The soundtrack will be released on November 6, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. 28 Hotel Rooms is written and directed by Matt Ross and stars Chris Messina and Marin Ireland as a novelist and a corporate accountant who find themselves in bed together while traveling for work in a city far from their homes. Brian Tyler to Score ‘Iron Man 3’

Brian Tyler has signed on to score Iron Man 3. The film is directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark/Iron Man, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Paul Bettany who are reprising their characters from the previous film. Ben Kingsley stars as the film’s villain The Mandarin and Rebecca Hall, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton are also starring. Black has co-written the screenplay with Drew Pearce. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige (The Avengers, Thor) is producing the third installment in the franchise and Louis D’Esposito, Stan Lee and Charles Newirth are executive producing.
