John Paesano to Score NBC’s Untitled Rand Ravich Project Pilot

John Paesano has been hired to score the pilot for NBC’s untitled Rand Ravich Project. The conspiracy thriller created by Ravich (writer/director of The Astronaut’s Wife, creator of Life) stars Dermot Mulroney, Gillian Anderson, Rachael Taylor, Lance Gross, Halston Sage, Max Martini and Joshua Erenberg. The show follows an unlikely puppeteer who will bring everyone from CEOs to the president of the United States to their knees by threatening the things they hold most dear. Phillip Noyce (Salt, Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games) is directing the pilot episode. Ravich has written the script for the pilot and is executive producing the project with Far Shariat (Life). NBC is expected to announce in May if the pilot will be picked up to series. Heroes Fall Album of Music Inspired by ‘Iron Man 3’ Announced

Marvel Music and Hollywood Records have announced the details of a compilation soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ superhero film sequel Iron Man 3. The album includes AWOLNATION’s Some Kind of Joke which is featured in the film, as well as other songs from and inspired by the movie by artists including Imagine Dragons, Passion Pit, Rogue Wave, Neon Trees, Capital Cities, Andrew Stockdale. Also featured are songs exclusively recorded for the album by Redlight King, WALK THE MOON and Mr Little Jeans. The soundtrack will be released on April 30, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate soundtrack featuring the film’s original score by Brian Tyler is now also available for pre-order here (the full album details will be announced soon). Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. Heitor Pereira is reuniting with director Raja Gosnell on the upcoming hybrid live action/animated sequel The Smurfs 2. The family comedy stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara and Hank Azaria who all reprise their characters from the original movie. Brendan Gleeson joins the cast as Patrick Winslow’s stepfather, Victor Doyle. The movie’s voice talent includes Katy Perry, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin, John Oliver, Christina Ricci and JB Smoove. J. David Stem & David N. MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure series Sinbad. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double, Severance). ‘Jurassic Park’ 20th Anniversary Soundtrack Released

Geffen Records has released a new soundtrack album for Steven Spielberg’s classic 1993 adventure hit film Jurassic Park. The album includes the content of the original soundtrack album featuring the movie’s original score composed and conducted by John Williams, as well as four previously unreleased tracks. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. No word yet on a physical release. The 20th Anniversary edition coincides with the film’s 3D release next month. Jurassic Park 3D based on the novel by Michael Crichton and starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. ‘The Hole’ Soundtrack Released

La-La Land Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for Joe Dante’s 3D horror fantasy The Hole. The album features the film’s original score written by Academy Award-nominated composer Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth, Wrath of the Titans). The soundtrack is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website where you can also listen to audio clips. The Hole starring Chris Massoglia, Haley Bennett, Nathan Gamble and Teri Polo follows two brothers who stumble upon a mysterious hole in their basement and find that once the hole is exposed, evil is unleashed. Max Richter has been tapped to score the sci-fi thriller Last Days on Mars. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ruairi Robinson who received an Academy Award nomination for his short Fifty Percent Grey and stars Liev Schreiber, Olivia Williams, Romola Garai, Elias Koteas, Tom Cullen, Goran Kostic and Johnny Harris. The movie centers on a group of astronauts on an exploratory mission to Mars who discover colonies of bacteria living deep within the permafrost. Clive Dawson has written the thriller’s screenplay based on a short story by Sydney J. Bounds. Michael Kuhn (The Duchess) is producing the project with Andrea Cornwell.
