Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action thriller Edge of Tomorrow
directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Charlotte Riley, Jonas Armstrong and Franz Drameh. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. Check out our soundtrack announcement for the full album details and to listen to audio clips. Also opening wide is the romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars directed by Josh Boone and starring Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Nat Wolff and Willem Dafoe. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by artists including Ed Sheeran, Birdy, Grouplove, M83, Kodaline, Jake Bugg and more. Tyler Bates is composing the music for the upcoming horror thriller The Sacrament. The film is written and directed by Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers) and stars Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Kentucker Audley, Amy Seimetz and Gene Jones. The movie follows two Vice media correspondents as they set out to document their friend’s search to find his missing sister. Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) is producing the Worldview Entertainment and Arcade Pictures production with Jacob Jaffke (Sleepwalk with Me), Peter Phok (Stake Land), Christopher Woodrow & Molly Conners (The Immigrant, Blood Ties). Bates has previously scored Worldview’s Killer Joe directed by William Friedkin.
