‘Disconnect’ Soundtrack Details

disconnectMilan Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Disconnect. The album features the film’s complete original score composed by Max Richter (Waltz with Bashir, Perfect Sense), as well as the song Ni Su Nave by Jayme Ivison. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 9, 2013 and physically on April 23. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. Disconnect is directed by Henry Alex Rubin (Murderball) and stars Jason Bateman, Alexander Skarsgard, Hope Davis, Frank Grillo, Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton, Andrea Riseborough and Max Thieriot. The movie interweaves three potboiler storylines about people searching for human connection in today’s wired world of the internet. doyle-impressions-of-americaVarese Sarabande has announced the release of a new symphonic work by Academy Award-nominated composer Patrick Doyle. The album entitled Patrick Doyle: Impressions of America features a symphonic piece scored for full orchestra and consisting of fifteen impressions. The symphony was inspired by the Scottish composer’s many trips to the US. The album will be released on April 16, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The release coincides with the composer’s 60th birthday next month. Doyle’s best known film scores include Sense and Sensibility, Brave, Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Thor, Hamletand Henry V. The composer is currently working on the score for the action thriller Jack Ryan starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley & Kevin Costner and directed by his long-time collaborator Kenneth Branagh. mervyn-warrenMervyn Warren has started work on his score for the upcoming crime comedy Hot Guys with Guns. The film marks the directorial debut of Doug Spearman (Noah’s Arc) and stars Brian McArdle, Marc Anthony Samuel, Darryl Stephens, Kamar de los Reyes, Jay Huguley, Alan Blumenfeld, Joan Ryan and Trey McCurley. The movie revolves around an actor and his ex-boyfriend who find themselves sucked in a crime spree sending shockwaves through Hollywoood’s Velvet Mafia. Spearman has also written the screenplay and is producing the project with Kelly Jones and Suzan Jones. Apart from composing the score, Warren has also written, performed and arranged the original song Something to Shoot For, which will be playing over a Bond-esque, animated opening sequence. mateomessinaMateo Messina is currently scoring the upcoming comedy The Angriest Man in Brooklyn. The film is directed by Phil Alden Robinson and stars Robin Williams, Mila Kunis, James Earl Jones, Peter Dinklage and Melissa Leo. The movie follows a stand-in doctor who mistakenly tells an obnoxious patient he has 90 minutes to live and then must locate him as the man goes on a whirlwind tour of the city. Daniel Taplitz (Breakin’ All the Rules) has written the screenplay and Bob Cooper (John Tucker Must Die, Mr. Woodcock), Tyler Mitchell (Lucky Number Slevin, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) and Daniel J. The album features the film’s original score composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Last Chance Harvey). At Any Price is directed by Ramin Bahrani and stars Dennis Quaid, Zac Efron, Kim Dickens, Heather Graham, Clancy Brown, Celcie Ross, Maika Monroe, Red West, Ben Marten and Dan Waller. The movie follows an ambitious modern-day farmer who is challenged by changes of his business and his rebellious son. sunlight-jrJ Mascis has composed the score for the upcoming romantic drama Sunlight Jr.. The film is written and directed by Laurie Collyer (Sherrybaby) and stars Naomi Watts, Matt Dillon, Norman Reedus and Tess Harper. The movie follows a convenience store clerk and her paraplegic boyfriend who are trapped in a generational cycle of poverty and ignorance. Andera Roa (Drinking Buddies) is producing the project for Freight Yard Films, Charlie Corwin (The Squid and the Whale) is producing for Original Media and Ariel Elia is producing for Empyrean Pictures. Mascis is best known as the singer, guitarist and songwriter for the underground rock band Dinosaur Jr. whose music has been used in numerous films, including Reality Bites, Young Adult and Grace of my Heart. phil-spectorPremiering tonight is the HBO original movie Phil Spector written and directed by David Mamet and starring Al Pacino the  t he legendary music producer and Helen Mirren as his defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden. Jeffrey Tambor, James Tolkan and Martin Jarvis are co-starring. The film’s original score is composed by Marcelo Zarvos who has previously scored a number of HBO films, including You Don’t Know Jack for Barry Levinson who is executive producing Phil Spector. paul-englishbyThis week, Paul Englisby has recorded his score for the film adaptation of the stage musical Sunshine on Leith. The movie is directed by Dexter Fletcher (Wild Bill) and stars Peter Mullan, Jane Horrocks, George McKay, Kevin Guthrie, Antonia Thomas and Freya Mavor. Stephen Greenhorn has written screenplay based on his musical, which takes the lyrics of songs from the Scottish pop-folk band The Proclaimers and uses them in story about a young man and a woman who have to re-learn how to live life in Edinburgh after coming home from serving in Afghanistan. Andrew Macdonald (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) & Allon Reich (Dredd, Never Let Me Go) are producing the project for DNA Films and Arabella Page Croft & Kieran Parker (Outpost, Legacy) are producing for Black Camel Pictures.  Read the rest of this entry »

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

the-croodsExpected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature The Croods directed by Chris Sanders & Kirk DeMicco and featuring the voice talent of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future Forrest Gump) has composed the film’s score. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Shine Your Way performed by Yuna feat. Owl City earlier this week. olympus-has-fallenAlso opening wide is the action thriller Olympus Has Fallen directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Gerard Butler, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, Cole Hauser, Radha Mitchell and Rick Yune. The film’s score is composed by Trevor Morris (Immortals, The Tudors, The Borgias). Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring Morris’ score earlier this week. to-the-wonderLakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s new drama To the Wonder. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hanan Townshend. Also included are two classical pieces used in the movie by Richard Wagner and J.S. Bach. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 16, 2013 and physically on May 21. To the Wonder is written and directed by Malick (Tree of Life, The Thin Red Line) and stars Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem and Olga Kurylenko. The movie follows a Parisian single mother and a Midwestern tourist who fall madly in love in France and relocate to Oklahoma with Marina’s young daughter to start a life together.
