Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller Carrie. The album features the film’s songs by such artists as Rogue Wave, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, The Naked and Famous, The Civil Wars, Matrimony, Lord Huron and Krewella. The soundtrack will be released on October 15, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce and stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort. The movie is a reimagining of Stephen King’s classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. ‘Grace Unplugged’ Score Album Announced

Ah 2 Music will release a score album for the family drama Grace Unplugged. The soundtrack features the film’s original orchestral score composed and conducted by Jeff Lippencott. The album will be released digitally on October 1, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. As previously reported, Sparrow Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the film. Grace Unplugged is directed by Brad J. Silverman and stars AJ Michalka, James Denton, Kevin Pollak, Jamie Grace, Chris Ellis, Michael Welch, Shawnee Smith, Mary Shaw, Chris Tomlin and Pia Toscano. iZLER revealed in a recent interview with Billboard that he will be scoring Showtime’s upcoming environmental documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. The show will explore the effects of climate change in different parts of the world. Film and TV stars including Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Olivia Munn and Ian Somerhalder are participating as first-person narrators on the ground. Relativity Music Group will release the official soundtrack album for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s indie comedy Don Jon. The album features the film’s original score composed by Nathan Johnson (Looper, Brick, The Brothers Bloom). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 8, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Don Jon is written and directed by Gordon-Levitt who also stars in the film alongside Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Tony Danza and Brie Larson. The movie follows a porn-addicted, modern day Don Juan who sets out to become a less selfish person after meeting a recently widowed older woman. Danny Lux is scoring the new CBS comedy The Millers. The show is created by Greg Garcia and stars Will Arnett, Margo Martindale, Jayma Mays, JB Smoove, Nelson Franklin, Eve Moon and Beau Bridges. The series follows a recently divorced local roving news reporter looking forward to living the singles life until his parents’ marital problems unexpectedly derail his plan. Garcia is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production. Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated film sequel Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 directed by Cody Cameron & Kris Pearn and featuring the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Will Forte, Andy Samberg, Benjamin Bratt, Neil Patrick Harris, Terry Crews and Kristen Schaal. Mark Mothersbaugh who has previously scored the original 2009 film, as well as Hotel Transylvania for Sony Pictures Animation has composed the movie’s score. Ramin Djawadi has been hired to score the upcoming FX drama The Strain. The show is based on the vampire novel trilogy written by Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrrinth) & Chuck Hogan (Prince of Thieves) and stars Corey Stoll, John Hurt, Kevin Durand, Mía Maestro, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Javier Botet, Miguel Gomez, Natalie Brown, Jack Kesy, Sean Astin, Robert Maillet and Francis Capra. The horror series centers on a vampire virus that infects New York a and a CDC doctor who is called upon to investigate a viral outbreak connected to an evil strain of vampirism. Madison Gate Records has released a new soundtrack album for AMC’s critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning drama Breaking Bad. The album features previously unreleased selections from the show’s original music composed by Dave Porter. Breaking Bad: Original Score from the Television Series Volume 2 is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Lionsgate and Republic Records have announced the details of the soundtrack album for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The album features the original song Atlas by Coldplay, which is already available as a single, as well as a new song by Christina Aguillera. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Patti Smith, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers, Ellie Goulding, Sia, The Nationals, Santigold, Of Monsters and Men, The Weeknd and Phantogram. The soundtrack will be released physically and digitally on November 19, 2013. A separate soundtrack featuring the score composed by James Newton Howard is expected to be announced soon.
