Steven Price has been tapped to score David Ayer’s upcoming currently untitled WWII dramatic thriller, previously known as Fury. The film is written and directed by Ayer (screenwriter of Training Day) and stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, Michael Peña, Jason Isaacs and Scott Eastwood. The movie follows the commander of a Sherman tank and its five-man crew on a mission behind enemy lines in April 1945 as Nazi Germany collapses. Ayer is also producing the QED International and Le Grisbi production with Bill Block (W., Alex Cross), John Lesher (End of Watch, Blood Ties) and Ethan Smith. Price is best known for his score for this year’s box office hit and awards contender Gravity directed by Alfonso Cuaron. The original song Stay Alive performed by Jose Gonzalez from Ben Stiller’s fantasy comedy drama The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will be released as a single. The song is composed by the movie’s composer Theodore Shapiro (Tropic Thunder, Marley & Me) and Craig Wedren (Wet Hot American Summer, The School of Rock). They have also penned the original song Step Out, which is already available to download. The Stay Alive single will be released on December 3 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to an audio clips. As previously reported, Universal Republic will release a soundtrack album for the film featuring both songs, as well as more music from the movie on December 17. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty starring Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn and Sean Penn will be released nationwide on December 25, 2013 by 20th Century Fox. Roque Banos has been hired to score the upcoming action drama In the Heart of the Sea. The film is directed by Ron Howard and stars Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Keeley, Ben Whishaw, Charlotte Riley and Tom Holland. The movie is based on a novel by Nathaniel Philbrick and follows a whaling ship that is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days, thousands of miles from home. Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond, K-Pax) has adapted the material for the screen. Howard’s producing partner Brian Grazer, Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Huntsman), Paula Weinstein (The Perfect Storm, Blood Diamond) and William Ward are producing the Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow production. Howard has previously collaborated with such composers as James Horner (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Cocoon), John Williams (Far and Away), Thomas Newman (Cinderella Man) and Randy Newman (Parenthood). Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1991 action thriller sequel F/X2 directed by Richard Franklyn (Psycho II, Link) and starring Bryan Brown and Brian Dennehy. The album features the film’s original score written and conducted by Academy Award-nominated composer Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Enter the Dragon, Bullit, Rush Hour) who followed Bill Conti who scored Robert Mandel’s original 1986 film. The soundtrack features Schifrin’s complete score in film order. Peter Gregson is composing the score for the upcoming British period comedy A Little Chaos. The film is directed by Alan Rickman who also stars in the film alongside Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Stanley Tucci, Helen McCrory and Jennifer Ehle. The movie follows two rival landscape gardeners who compete to design a fountain at Versailles for Louis XIV. Alison Deegan has written the screenplay. Gail Egan (Half of a Yellow Sun, A Most Wanted Man), Andrea Caldrewood (The Last King of Scotland) and Bertrand Faivre (Julia, Farewell) are producing the BBC Films, Lipsync and Lionsgate U.K. production. Playtime has released a soundtrack album for Roman Polanski’s drama Venus in Fur (La Vénus à la fourrure). The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Argo) who previously worked together with the director on The Ghost Writer and Carnage. Venus in Fur is written by David Ives based on his Tony-winning stage play and stars Emmanuelle Seigner and Mathieu Amalric. The movie follows an actress who attempts to convince a director how she’s perfect for a role in his upcoming production. Relativity Music Group will release a soundtrack album for the the drama Out of the Furnace. The album features the film’s original score composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter‘s Bone, Last Chance Harvey). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 3, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Out of the Furnace is co-written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) and stars Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana and Sam Shepard. The movie follows two brothers in an economically depressed part of the American Rust Belt. When one has to go to prison, the other is lured into a ruthless gang. La-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album for the television event Bonnie & Clyde. The album features the original score from the mini-series composed by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2). The soundtrack will be released on December 10, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bonnie & Clyde is directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) and stars Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger in the title roles of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, the 1930s couple whose crime spree enraptured the American public. Holly Hunter, William Hurt, Sarah Hyland, Elizabeth Reaser, Lane Garrison, Austin Hebert and Dale Dickey are also starring in the four hour mini-series, which will premiere over two nights on December 8 & 9 on the History, Lifetime and A&E networks. ‘Morocco’ (‘Exit Marrakech’) Soundtrack Announced

Colosseum Music Entertainment has announced a soundtrack album for Caroline Link’s German drama Morocco (Exit Marrakech). The album features the film’s original music composed by Niki Reiser who has previously collaborated with the director on a number of films, including Beyond Silence and the Academy Award-winning feature Nowhere in Africa. The soundtrack will be released overseas on December 6, 2013. No word yet on a domestic release date. Morocco stars Ulrich Tukur, Josef Bierbichler, Hafsia Herzi, Marie-Lou Sellem and Samuel Schneider. The movie centers on the relationship between a respected theater director and his rebellious teenage son during a trip to Marrakech, which is followed by a cathartic road trip across Morocco. The drama had its international premiere at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and was picked up for domestic distribution by Adopt Films for a theatrical release in early summer of 2014.
