The movie marks the filmmaker’s first English language project and stars Reese Witherspoon, Corey Stoll, Sarah Baker and Brit Arnold Oceng. The film follows a young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery for relocation to the United States with three other lost boys and develops an unlikely friendship with a brash American woman assigned to help them. Margaret Nagle (Warm Springs, Boardwalk Empire) has written the screenplay. Molly Smith (Beautiful Creatures, P.S. I Love You), Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill are producing the project for Black Label Media, alongside Brian Grazer & Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, 24) and Karen Kehela Sherwood (Blue Crush) for Imagine Entertainment. yves-saint-laurentWY Productions will release a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Yves Saint Laurent. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ibrahim Maalouf. Also included are the songs featured in the film by artists such as Brisa Roché, Chromatics, The Emotions, The Chamber Brothers, We the People, The Bossmen and Patrick Watson. Yves Saint Laurent is directed by Jalil Lespert and stars Pierre Niney in the title role of the French fashion designer and Guillaume Gallienne as Pierre Berge, his onetime romantic partner and fashion house co-founder. Mark Kilian is composing the music for the upcoming ABC drama Killer Women. The show is created by Hannah Shakespeare (The Raven, Loverboy) and stars Tricia Helfer, Marc Blucas, Marta Milans, Michael Trucco and Alex Fernandez. The series centers on the only woman in the notoriously male Texas Rangers – committed to finding the truth and seeing justice served. Shakespeare is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Sofía Vergara (Modern Family), Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro), Ed Zuckerman (Blue Bloods, Law & Order),, Ben Silverman (The Office, The Tudors), and Luis Balaguer. the-sleepwalkerSondre Lerche has announced on his official website that he will be releasing the original soundtrack from the indie drama The Sleepwalker, which he co-scored with Kato Ådland. The music also features vocals by the Norwegian singer/songwriter whose best known previous film scoring credit is Dan In Real Life, as well as Sylvie Lewis, Nathalie Nordnes and Marit Larsen. The soundtrack will be released on January 14, 2014 and is now available for pre-order here. The Sleepwalker is directed by Mona Fastvold and stars Gitte Witt, Christopher Abbott, Brady Corbet and Stephanie Ellis. The movie follows a young couple who are renovating the woman’s secluded family estate and whose lives are violently interrupted when unexpected guests arrive. mark-ortonMark Orton is the composer of the upcoming comedy drama My Old Lady. The film marks the directorial debut of Israel Horovitz (screenwriter of Sunshine, Author! Author!) and stars Maggie Smith, Kevin Kline, Kristin Scott Thomas and Dominique Pinon. The movie is based on a play by Horovitz and centers on a man from New York who travels to Paris to liquidate a valuable apartment he has inherited from his estranged father and meets a refined old woman, who turns out to be his father’s lover, living in the apartment with her daughter. Orton relied on violin, cello and accordion to score the drama produced by Rachael Horovitz (Moneyball), Gary Foster (Daredevil, Sleepless in Seattle, The Score), Nitsa Benchetrit and David Barrot. passage-to-indiaQuartet Records has announced three new limited edition soundtrack releases. First up is a new soundtrack album for the 1984 historical drama A Passage to India directed by David Lean and starring Judy David, Victor Banerjee, Peggy Ashcroft, James Fox and Alec Guiness. The album features the film’s complete original score composed and conducted by Maurice Jarre who previously worked with the director on Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago and Ryan’s Daughter. The release includes more than 20 minutes of previously unreleased music, including many cues that were not used in the final cut of the movie. The composer was honored with his third Academy Award for his score in 1985 and the movie received ten more nominations. The music is performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. war-storyAmy Lee has announced on Twitter that she has co-scored the upcoming indie drama War Story with Dave Eggar. The film is directed by Mark Jackson and stars Catherine Keener, Hafsia Herzi, Vincenzo Amato, Donatella Finocchiaro and Ben Kingsley. The movie follows a war photographer who retreats to a small town in Sicily after being held captive during the conflict in Libya. Jackson has also co-written the screenplay with Kristin Gore (David O. Russell’s unreleased Nailed). Gore and Keener are also producing the project with Shona Tuckman (Finding Joy) and Matt Ratner. i-frankensteinLakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller I, Frankenstein. The album features the songs from the film by By Maker (feat. Geno Lenardo and Daniel Davies). Also includes ad bonus tracks are songs by 8mm, Justin Lassen and Geno Lenardo feat. Prashant Aswani. The soundtrack will be released on January 7, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, the label will also release a separate soundtrack featuring the film’s original score composed by Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil. I, Frankenstein is written and directed by Stuart Beattie and stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto and Jai Courtney. The thriller is based on the graphic novel of the same title by Kevin Grevioux and centers on Frankenstein’s monster Adam who is being pursued by demons wanting to gain the secret of his reanimated corpse. The movie is directed by Anthony Stacchi (co-director of Open Season) and Graham Annable (story artist on Coraline and ParaNorman) and features the voice talent of Ben Kingsley, Toni Collette, Elle Fanning, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Jared Harris, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Richard Ayoade and Tracy Morgan. The film is based on the novel Here Be Monsters by Alan Snow and takes place in Cheesebridge, a posh Victorian-era where people believe the Boxtrolls crawl out of the sewers at night and steal their children and cheeses, when in reality they’re a cavern-dwelling community of quirky and lovable oddballs. expectingLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy Expecting. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Rendition, Pitch Perfect). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 17, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Expecting is written and directed by Jessie McCormack and stars Michelle Monaghan, Radha Mitchell, Jon Dore, Michael Weston and Mimi Kennedy. The film follows a married women, who after years of trying to have a baby is shocked when her best friend finds herself pregnant after a one-night stand and offers to give her the child. The comedy premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and was picked up by Tribeca Film for domestic distribution.
