ratatouille-rideMichael Giacchino revealed on Twitter today the he is currently recording the music for a new Ratatouille theme park attraction for Disneyland Paris based on the Oscar-winning movie from Pixar. The composer has previously scored the 2007 animated feature, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination. The attractions is reportedly a trackless ride vehicles with 3-D projections and special effects and riders riders will encounter audio-animatronic figures, special effects and 3-D imagery projected on 30-foot-wide domed screens. Giacchino’s music is being recorded at Capitol Records Studios in Los Angeles. ‘Banshee’ Soundtrack Released

bansheeRelativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album for the Cinemax original series Banshee. The album features the show’s main title theme and the Carrie/Lucas theme by Methodic Doubt, as well as songs from the series by artists including Nico Vega, Verse & Bishop, The Mutts, Cat Dowling, Abi Wade, Anders Osborne, Ivy Levan and more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Banshee is created by Jonathan Tropper & David Schickler and stars Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, Hoon Lee, Rus Blackwell and Matt Servitto. The show executive produced by Alan Ball (Six Feet UnderTrue Blood) follows an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he continues his criminal activities. John McTiernan will be directing the film, which follows a former DEA agent with a rogue streak and his select team of mercenaries who descend upon a Mexican border town to neutralize a drug lord. The movie’s cast is expected to be announced soon. Rionda Del Castro is producing the Hannibal Classics production with Michael Mendelsohn. Eyquem has previously scored the production company’s thriller Tokarev starring Nicolas Cage. McTiernan has previously collaborated with composers including Michael Kamen (Die Hard), Alan Silvestri (Predator), Jerry Goldsmith (The 13th Warrior), Basil Poledouris (The Hunt for Red October), Bill Conti (The Thomas Crown Affair) and Klaus Badelt (Basic).  Read the rest of this entry »

‘Enemies Closer’ Soundtrack Details

enemies-closerLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the action thriller Enemies Closer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tony Morales (Hatfield & McCoysThe Bag Man). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Enemies Closer is directed by Peter Hyams (Outland, End of Days, The Relic) and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Orlando Jones and Tom Everett Scott. The movie follows a forest ranger and former Navy SEAL who is plunged into survival mode after a major shipment of drugs goes missing on the US-Canadian border and he is forced to help retrieve the downed package. let-it-goOscars show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today that Idina Menzel will, for the first time, perform the Academy Award-nominated song Let it Go from Disney’s animated feature Frozen at the 86th Academy Awards ceremony on March 2, 2014. The song written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez is one of the four songs up for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category. The two songwriters are nominated for the first time. The performance will also mark Menzel’s first appearance at the Oscars. The Tony Award-winning singer, songwriter and actress has previously appeared in such films as Enchanted, Ask the Dust and Rent. Ramin-djawadiRamin Djawadi has been hired to score historical horror thriller Dracula Untold. The film is helmed by commercials director Gary Shore and tells the origin story of the man who became Dracula. Luke Evans stars in the title role as a young prince who risks his soul to save his wife and child from a bloodthirsty sultan and in the process becomes the first vampire. Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Art Parkinson and Charlie Cox are co-starring. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have written the screenplay. The album features the film’s original music composed by Fernando Velazquez (Mama, The Impossible, Devil). The soundtrack will be released in the week of February 24, 2014. The label will release a soundtrack album for the 1963 drama The List of Adrian Messenger directed by John Huston and starring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum, George C. Scott and Frank Sinatra. The CD marks the world premiere release of the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Papillon, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien). ‘Maestro’ to Feature Music by Craig Leon

craig-leonBow Street Films has announced that Craig Leon will be writing the music for the upcoming drama Maestro. The film based on a novel by Peter Goldsworthy is directed by Catherine Jarvis and is set to star Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceIn the Heart of the Sea). He will be playing a pianist who moves to an exotic outpost of 1960′s Northern Australia and is forced to learn from a Viennese refugee with a shadowed past,  known to the locals as Maestro. Daniel Harvey is producing the project with Joe Jenckes (Margin Call, Kill Your Darlings) and David Dickson. The music will also feature recordings performed by famed pianist Lang Lang and a soundtrack album will be released by Deutsche Grammophon/Universal.
