Walt Disney Records has revealed the details of the soundtrack album for the Disney Channel original movie Descendants. The album features the songs from the film performed by the movie’s cast members, as as well as the single Believe performed and written by 16 year-old recording artist Shawn Mendes. Also included is a suite from the film’s original score composed by David Lawrence (High School Musical, American Pie). The soundtrack will be released on July 31, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Descendants is directed and executive produced by Kenny Ortega and stars Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart and Sofia Carson as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains. Last night, the film music of 1985 was celebrated at the concert Back in Time…1985 LIVE! at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. The concert was produced by Varese Sarabande and performed by the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO). Special guests included composers David Shire who conducted his score for Return to Oz, Bruce Broughton who conducted his Academy Award-nominated music from Silverado, Cliff Eidelman who conducted George Delerue’s score for Agnes of God, Jeff Beal who conducted a piece from John Corigliano’s music from Revolution and Christopher Lennertz who conducted music from Michael Kamen’s score for Brazil. David Buckley to Score ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Prequel ‘Leatherface’

David Buckley has been tapped to score the upcoming horror thriller Leatherface. The film is directed by Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury (Inside) and stars Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Sam Strike and Julian Kostov. The movie is a prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and follows a teenage Leatherface as he escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Seth M. Sherwood wrote the screenplay. Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman & Carl Mazzocone (Texas Chainsaw 3D) and Les Weldon (The Expendables series, Conan the Barbarian) are producing the Millennium Films production. The details of the Walt Disney Records Legacy Collection release for Pixar Studios’ 1995 feature Toy Story have been revealed. The album features the film’s complete original score and the movie’s original songs composed by Randy Newman (Monsters, Inc., A Bug’s Life, Cars, Seabiscuit, Avalon). Also featured on a second disc are various piano/vocal demos and instrumental versions of the songs. The 2-CD set will be released on July 10, 2015 to coincide with the film’s 20th anniversary and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Ilan Eshkeriand Dinos Chapman have composed the music for the British mini-series The Marriage of Reason & Squalor. The 4-parter is based on the 2008 novel by Jake Chapman who is also directing the project and stars Rhys Ifans, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Michael Fitzgerald and Noma Dumezweni. The series follows a woman whose dashing surgeon fiancé has given her a desert island as a wedding present and travels to the island to wait for him, but meets a reclusive and misshapen author instead.
