Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French TV series The Promise (La Promesse). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Nathaniel Méchaly (Taken, Colombiana, The Grandmaster, Shut In, Transporter: The Series, Taxi Brooklyn). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and other digital music stores), where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. The Promise is created by Anne Landois & Gaëlle Bellan and stars Sofia Essaïdi, Olivier Marchal, Lorànt Deutsch, Guy Lecluyse, Natacha Régnier, Nadia Farès, Robinson Stévenin and Oscar Copp. The 6-part thriller revolves around the disappearance of an 11-year-old girl on Boxing Day 1999.

Five new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the thriller Unforgettable directed by Denise Di Novi and starring Katherine Heigl, Rosario Dawson, Geoff Stults, Cheryl Ladd, Whitney Cummings and Isabella Rice. The film’s original music is composed by Toby Chu (Covert Affairs, Burn Notice, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, State of Affairs, Beyond). No soundtrack album has been announced. Gabriel Yared has been hired to score the upcoming drama The Promise. The film is directed by Terry George (Hotel Rwanda, Reservation Road) and stars Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, James Cromwell and Jean Reno. The movie is set in 1922 amid the final days of the Ottoman Empire and centers on a love triangle in 1922 with a medical student, an American journalist based in Paris and a beautiful and sophisticated woman. George has also written the screenplay with Robin Swicord (Memoirs of a Geisha, Little Women).
