The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Life of Crime, Detachment, Pawn Shop Chronicles). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015. The Runner is directed by Austin Stark and stars Nicolas Cage, Sarah Paulson, Connie Nielsen, Wendell Pierce, Bryan Batt and Peter Fonda. The movie is set in the aftermath of the 2010 BP oil spill and follows an idealistic but flawed politician who is forced to confront his dysfunctional life after his career is destroyed in a sex scandal. The film is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, Get Shorty, The Addams Family) and stars Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner, Robbie Amell, Malina Weissman, Christopher Walken and Mark Consuelos. The movie follows a workaholic businessman who has to figure out how to redeem himself after a terrible accident leaves him trapped in the body of his family’s cat. Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) is attached to direct the movie, which is set 20 years after actions of the 1964 classic movie and will be based in parts on P.L. Travers’ book series. David Magee (Life of Pi, Finding Neverland) is writing the screenplay and John DeLuca (Into the Woods, Nine) and Marc Platt (Drive, Wanted, Legally Blonde) are producing the Walt Disney Pictures production.
