BFD Records will release a soundtrack album for John Hillcoat’s thriller Triple 9. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Claudia Sarne & Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli, Broken City) and Bobby Krlic. Also included is a remix of Cypress Hills’ Pigs by Ross. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 26, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Triple 9 is directed by Hillcoat (Lawless, The Proposition) and stars Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Woody Harrelson and Kate Winslet. A soundtrack album will be released for the PBS mini-series Mercy Street. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Town, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Brothers Grimsby). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, February 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mercy Street is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller Exposed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Carlos José Alvarez (Deadline). Janet Dacal is performing the vocal solos on the score. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 26, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. HBO’s ‘Vice Principals’ to Feature Music by Joey Stephens

Joey Stephens is reuniting with Jody Hill & Danny McBride and will compose the music for the upcoming HBO original series Vice Principals. The show is created by Hill and McBride who also stars in the comedy alongside Walter Goggins, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Georgia King, Busy Philipps, Shea Whigham and Sheaun McKinney. The series, which has been ordered for two seasons with 18 episodes, tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it, the vice principals. McBride and Hill are also executive producing the project with Stephanie Laing and David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls, George Washington) who also directed the pilot episode. Reza Safinia is composing the music for the upcoming dramatic comedy The Trust. The film is directed by Ben & Alex Brewer and stars Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood, Jerry Lewis and Sky Ferreira. The movie revolves around two corrupt cops of the Las Vegas Police Department who discover a high bail receipt in connection to a drug bust and set in motion a plan to find the source of the money. Ben Brewer has also written the screenplay with Adam Hirsch. Molly Hassell (Edmond, Jackie & Ryan, Vamps) and Braxton Pope (The Canyons, Shrink) are producing the project. Ray Colcord (1949 – 2016)

Ray Colcord has passed away at age 66 in Los Angeles, CA. The composer has been scoring numerous movies and TV shows over the last three decades. He received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 1991 for his main titles theme for NBC’s Singer & Sons. Colcord also composed the music for all seasons of Disney/ABC’s Dinosaurs and Boy Meets World and the CBS drama Promised Land. His other scoring credits include the classic Simpsons episode Dead Putting Society, episodes of The Facts of Life and Melissa & Joey and movies such as Heartwood, The King’s Guard and Wish Upon A Star. Michael Giacchino Wins Annie Award for ‘Inside Out’

Composer Michael Giacchino was honored with an Annie Award in the Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production category for the music from Pixar’s hit movie Inside Out. The composer accepted his award in person at the awards ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The other contenders in the category were Carter Burwell for Anomalisa, Kevin Riepl for Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem, Ruben Feffer, Gustavo Kurlat, GEM Grupo Experimental de Música & Emicida for Boy and the World and Mychael & Jeff Danna for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur.
