Lionsgate announced today that Lin-Manuel Miranda will serve as a creative producer and musical mastermind on the feature film and television series adaptations of Pat Rothfuss’ best-selling franchise book trilogy The Kingkiller Chronicle. He is expected to compose the original music and write the songs for both projects. The studio is simultaneously developing and producing the feature film franchise and a TV drama series that expands on the world outside of the books. Lindsey Beer (Transformers: The Last Knight) is currently writing the screenplay for the first movie based on the first book, The Name of the Wind. Robert Lawrence (Clueless, The Last Castle) is producing both feature and TV adaptations.
