dan-romerDan Romer has recently composed the score for the upcoming indie drama Katie Says Goodbye. The film is written and directed by Wayne Roberts and stars Olivia Cooke, Mireille Enos, Christopher Abbott, Jim Belushi and Mary Steenburgen. The movie follows a kindhearted 17-year-old in the American Southwest who turns to prostitution to fulfill her dream of a new life in San Francisco. Eric Schultz (James White), Jacob Wasserman,Kimberly Parker and Carlo Sirtori (The Preppie Connection) are producing the project. Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Antonio Campos (Christine) are among the film’s executive producers.  Read the rest of this entry »

On Wednesday, August 17, Academy governor Michael Giacchino (UpStar TrekInside Out) and animation director David Silverman will host the West Coast restoration premiere of the 1930 classic King of Jazz at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. james-lavinoJames Lavino has been hired to score the upcoming indie drama One Last Thing. The film is written and directed by Tim Rouhana and stars Wendell Pierce (The Wire, Treme), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) and Jurnee Smollet-Bell (Underground). The movie tells the story of a lonely dentist in Florida whose days are filled by work and his solo daily golf game and who begins to journey outside his comfort zone when he’s confronted by a figure from the past and finds out that he has an adult daughter living in Brooklyn. Alexa L. The album features the film’s original music composed by Giona Ostinelli (Two-Bit Waltz, Darling, Carter High). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 5, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Carnage Park is written and directed by Mickey Keating and stars Ashley Bell, Pat Healy, James Landry Hébert, Darby Stanchfield and Alan Ruck. The movie follows a woman who is held hostage by two bank robbers, only to find herself on the property of a psychotic military sniper, who poses an even greater threat on her life. The film is directed by Adam Thomas Anderegg and stars John Rhys-Davies, Karl Johnson and Valentin Novopolskij. The movie is based on Leo Tolstoy’s short story Martin the Cobbler (also commonly known as Where Love Is, God Is) and was adapted for the small screen by author Joseph Clay (Demons of the Jungle). homePremiering on Friday, July 29, is DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix series Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh developed by Ryan Crego & Thurop Van Orman and featuring the voices of Rachel Crow, Mark Whitten, Ana Ortiz, Ron Funches and Matt Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Alex Geringas. The animated comedy is based on last year’s feature Home (scored by Lorne Balfe) and centers on the friendship between the fearless Tip and overenthusiastic Oh as they navigate the crazily combined human and alien culture they live in. marvel-studiosIt was announced at Comic-Con today that Michael Giacchino composed a fanfare for the new logo of Marvel Studios, which will be playing in front of all future Marvel feature releases. The music was recorded a couple of weeks ago at Abbey Road Studios in London. Check out the fanfare after the jump. Giacchino is currently scoring his first movie for Marvel, Doctor Strange directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rachel McAdams., which will be released on November 4, 2016. king-arthurDaniel Pemberton is reteaming with director Guy Ritchie on the upcoming fantasy adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. The film stars Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Jude Law and Eric Bana. The movie is a new take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. Ritchie has also written the screenplay with Lionel Wigram (Sherlock Holmes) and Joby Harold (Awake). The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (UpJurassic WorldThe Incredibles, Inside Out, Lost) who previously scored J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness.
