Premiering tomorrow, November 14, is the National Geographic originals series Mars directed by Everardo Gout and executive produced by Ron Howard & Brian Grazer about a fictional astronaut crew on the very first human Mars mission in 2033. The show’s original music is composed by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Lawless, Hell or High Water). Premiering on Tuesday, November 15, is the USA original series Shooter based on the novel Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter and starring Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Shantel VanSanten and Eddie McClintock. Clint Mansell to Score Rupert Sanders’ ‘Ghost in the Shell’

Director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) revealed at a media event in Tokyo this weekend that Clint Mansell is scoring the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. The film is based on the Japanese manga of the same title created by Masamune Shirow and stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. The movie follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9, which is devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists and faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology. ‘Please Like Me’ Soundtrack Released

inSync Music has released a soundtrack album for the Australian coming-of-age comedy Please Like Me. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Bryony Marks (Felony, Noise). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Please Like Me is created by Josh Thomas who also stars in the series alongside Thomas Ward, Caitlin Stasey, Emily Barclay, Debra Lawrance, Hannah Gadsby, Keegan Joyce, David Roberts and Renee Lim. Netflix’s ‘Captive’ to Feature Music by Anne Nikitin

Anne Nikitin has composed the music for the new Netflix original series Captive. The docu-series is executive produced by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow, Go, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man) and focuses on the challenging negotiations involved in resolving hostage situations. The episodes look at the situations from the viewpoint of everyone involved: the victims and their families back home, the negotiators, government officials, business leaders, and the kidnappers. Also executive producing the project are Simon Chinn for Lightbox, Dave Bartis & Gene Klein for Hypnotic. and Lisa Nishimura, Adam Del Deo & Jason Spingarn-Koff for Netflix. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi drama Arrival directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. The film’s original music is composed by Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners). Deutsche Grammophon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the comedy Almost Christmas directed by David E. John Paesano (The Maze Runner, Daredevil, When the Game Stands Tall) has composed the film’s original score. Simon Franglen Scoring AT&T Audience Network’s ‘Ice’

Simon Franglen is composing the music for the new AT&T Audience Network original series Ice. The show is written by Robert Munic (Fighting, The Cleaner) and stars Cam Gigandet, Jeremy Sisto, Ray Winstone, Judith Shekoni, Raymond Barry, Ella Thomas, Chloe East, Audrey Marie Anderson and Donald Sutherland. The crime drama follows the Green family as it plunges into the underbelly of the Los Angeles diamond trade. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer, Olympus Has Fallen) has directed the first episode and is also executive producing the Entertainment One (eOne) and Fuqua Films production with Munic. ‘Emelie’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Emelie. The album features the film’s original music composed by Phil Mossman (Cop Car, Another Earth, I Origins, Lola Versus, Mercy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 25, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Emelie is directed by Michael Thelin and stars Sarah Bolger, Joshua Rush, Carly Adams, Thomas Bair, Susan Pourfar and Chris Beetem. The movie revolves around a couple’s replacement babysitter who turns out to be more than they bargined for when she subjects their kids to a series of twisted activities. ‘I Am Bolt’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary I Am Bolt. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ian Arber (Scott and Sid, Quacks). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 25, 2016. I Am Bolt is directed by Gabe & Ben Turner (The Class Of 92) and produced by Leo Pearlman and centers on Jamaican star sprinter and Olympic champion Usain Bolt. The movie features footage at the Rio and London Olympics and the Beijing World Champions, as well as archive clips from his younger days and interviews with those who know him best. ‘100 Streets’ Score Album Released

MovieScore Media has released a score album album for the drama 100 Streets. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Saunderson (Starfish). As previously reported, Rhino Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs, as well as selections from the score overseas today. 100 Streets is directed by Jim O’Hanlon and stars Idris Elba, Gemma Arterton, Tom Cullen, Ryan Gage, Ken Stott, Adam Bakri, Steven Mackintosh, Franz Drameh and Samantha Barks. The movie explores the interconnecting stories of a range of city dwellers in London, including a a as a former rugby star, his wife, played by Arterton, small-time drug dealer and a photographer. Universal Music will release a soundtrack album for the British drama Mum’s List. The album features the film’s original music score by Amelia Warner. The soundtrack will be released digitally overseas on November 25, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Mum’s List is written and directed by Niall Johnson (Keeping Mum, White Noise) and stars Rafe Spall, Emilia Fox, Elaine Cassidy, William Stagg and Matthew Stagg. The movie is based on the best-selling book by St John (Singe) Greene and revolves around a couple from North Somerset, whose lives were turned upside down when one of them was diagnosed with an incurable breast cancer.
