Rusted Wave has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1988 western Young Guns. The album features the film’s original music composed by Anthony Marinelli (15 Minutes, 2 Days in the Valley) and Brian Banks (Internal Affairs). The soundtrack will be released digitally and on vinyl on January 20, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Mica Levi (aka Micachu) is composing the music for the upcoming sci-fi dramedy Marjorie Prime. The film is written and directed by Michael Almereyda (Nadja, Experimenter, Hamlet) and stars Jon Hamm, Geena Davis, Lois Smith and Tim Robbins. The movie based on Jordan Harrison’s play is set in the near future in a time of artificial intelligence and follows a 86-year-old woman who has a handsome new companion who looks like her deceased husband and is programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘Billions’ to Be Released

The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by ESKMO (aka Brendan Angelides). The soundtrack will be released on February 10, 2017. ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced a deluxe soundtrack edition for this year’s sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond. The album features the film’s expanded score composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Lost). The 2-CD set is limited to 5000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website. The label has also released the regular soundtrack for the movie earlier this year. Star Trek Beyond is directed by Justin Lin, produced by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the new season of the BBC series The Hollow Crown, which adapts Shakespeare’s history plays set during the time of the Wars of the Roses: Henry VI Part 1, Henry VI Part II and Richard III. Dan Jones (Shadow of the Vampire, Lady Macbeth, Max) has composed the season’s original music. He follows composers Stephen Warbeck, Adam Cork and Adrian Johnston who scored the previous Hollow Crown installments. The 3-parter starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Sturridge, Sophie Okonedo, Keeley Hawes, Hugh Bonneville, Judi Dench & Michael Gambon will premiere in the U.S. on PBS as part of the Great Performances series. Premiering on Wednesday, December 14, is the new Fox drama Star created by Lee Daniels & Tom Donaghy and starring Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady and Ryan Destiny. The show’s original score is composed by James S. Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck, Damages, American Horror Story, Bloodline). Republic Records has released an EP featuring the songs from the premiere episode this past Friday. ‘Ballerina’ Soundtrack Details

Gaumont will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Ballerina. The album features the film’s original score composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Time Machine, The Recruit, The Promise), as well as the original songs from the movie by Christopher Braide. Also included is Demi Lovato’s Confident. The soundtrack will be released overseas on December 12, 2016. (UPDATE, August, 2017: The album is now available in the U.S. under the title Leap! and can be downloaded on Amazon). Ballerina is directed by Eric Summer & Eric Warin and features the voice talent of Elle Fanning, Maddie Ziegler and Carly Rae Jepsen. The movie is set in 1879 Paris and follows an orphan girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina and moves to Paris, where she passes for someone else and accedes to the position of pupil at the Grand Opera house. The show is created by Jeff Astrof (Ground Floor), Matt Miller (Forever, Chuck, Lethal Weapon) and stars John Lithgow, Nick D’Agosto, Steven Boyer, Sherri Shepherd, Jayma Mays and Krysta Rodriguez. The series follows a bright-eyed New York lawyer who heads to a small Southern town to defend an eccentric accused of murder. Astrof and Miller also serve as executive producers on the Warner Bros. Opening semi-wide in around 600 theaters is the comedy The Bounce Back directed by Youssef Delara and starring Shemar Moore, Nadine Velazquez, Bill Bellamy, Sheryl Underwood and Kali Hawk. Reza Safinia (Filly Brown, The Trust, Birth of the Dragon) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie follows a relationship guru and best-selling author who finds himself falling for the licensed therapist who questions his methods. The comedy is being released by Viva Pictures.
