Universal Music has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Chasing Trane. The album features 11 tracks by the film’s subject, jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on November 17, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Chasing Trane is directed by John Scheinfeld (The U.S. vs. John Lennon) and explores the global power and impact of Coltrane’s music and reveals the passions, experiences and forces that shaped his life and revolutionary sounds. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British series The Collection created Oliver Goldstick and starring Richard Coyle, Tom Riley, Frances de la Tour, Mamie Gummer, Max Deacon, Irène Jacob, Michael Kitchen and James Cosmo. The show’s original music is composed by Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, Ripper Street, Primeval). The drama premiered last year in the UK on Amazon and is making its domestic debut tonight on PBS. Premiering on Wednesday, October 11, is the new CW drama Dynasty created by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage & Sallie Patrick based on the classic 80s show of the same title and starring Nathalie Kelley, Elizabeth Gillies, Alan Dale, Sam Adegoke, Rob Riley and Grant Show. Paul-Leonard Morgan (Limitless, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, Dredd, The Numbers Station) is composing the show’s original music. Michael A. Levine announced this week that he is scoring the upcoming Freeform original series Siren. The show is based on a story by Eric Wald (View from the Top) & Dean White (The 100) and stars Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun and Rena Owen. The drama is set in the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, which is turned upside down when a mysterious girl appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the small fishing town. A soundtrack album has been released for the documentary Uncertain. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, A Ghost Story, The Exorcist, Tumbledown). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Uncertain is directed by Ewan McNicol & Anna Sandilands and centers on the Texas-Louisiana border town of Uncertain, whose residents – all 94 of them – are struggling to save their lake, and livelihood, while three men battle their own demons in search of forgiveness and redemption. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi thriller Blade Runner 2049 directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight) and Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Hidden Figures). Epic and ASG Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as songs by Lauren Daigle, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Also opening wide is the drama The Mountain Between Us directed by Hany Abu-Assad and starring Kate Winslet, Idris Elba, Beau Bridges and Dermot Mulroney. WaterTower Music to Release Danny Elfman’s ‘Justice League’ Soundtrack

WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the comic book movie Justice League. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Men in Black) who reportedly is using his theme from Tim Burton’s Batman, as well as John Williams’ Superman theme in his score. Dhani Harrison and Paul Hicks are composing the original score for the new Showtime original series White Famous. The show is created by Tom Kapinos (Californication, Lucifer) and stars Jay Pharoa, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Jacob Ming-Trent, Lonnie Chavis and Meagan Good. The comedy is based on the life of actor Jamie Foxx and follows a young African-American comedian whose star is on the rise and must navigate to maintain his credibility while attempting to become “white famous.” Kapinos is also executive producing the project with Foxx and Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Ride Along, Think Like a Man) who also directed the pilot episode. ‘The West Wing’ Soundtrack Album Released

Varese Sarabande has announced the full details of the first official soundtrack album for the NBC hit drama The West Wing. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by W.G. Snuffy Walden (Friday Night Lights, Under the Dome, Nashville) who received an Emmy Award for his main titles theme from the series. The limited edition 2-CD soundtrack is now available to order on the label’s official website. A digital version will be released by WaterTower Music. The West Wing created by Aaron Sorkin and starring Rob Lowe, Moira Kelly, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, John Spencer, Bradley Whitford, Martin Sheen, Janel Moloney and Stockard Channing aired between 1999 and 2006 on NBC.
