Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi thriller Blade Runner 2049 directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight) and Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Hidden Figures). Epic and ASG Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as songs by Lauren Daigle, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Also opening wide is the drama The Mountain Between Us directed by Hany Abu-Assad and starring Kate Winslet, Idris Elba, Beau Bridges and Dermot Mulroney. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller Brawl in Cell Block 99. The album features the original songs from the movie composed by Jeff Herriott & director S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk) and performed by Butch Tavares, Adi Armour and The O’Jays. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 13, 2017. Brawl in Cell Block 99 is written and directed by Zahler and stars Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Carpenter, Udo Kier and Don Johnson. The movie follows a former boxer turned drug runner who lands in a prison battleground after a deal gets deadly. The thriller premiered at this year’s Venice and Toronto Film Festivals and will be released in select theaters on October 6 by RLJ Entertainment.
