The full details of the soundtrack album for James Marsh’s drama The Mercy have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Johann Johannsson (Arrival, The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners). Also included are several tracks from the composer’s studio albums Orphée and Englabörn. The soundtrack will be released on February 2, 2018 by Deutsche Grammophon and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Mercy starring Colin Firth, Rachel Weisz, David Thewlis, Ken Stott and Jonathan Bailey chronicles amateur yachtsman Donald Crowhurst’s attempt to complete the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race in 1968 and his subsequent attempts to cover up his failure. The 6-parter revolves around the mysterious disappearances of three schoolgirls and one teacher on Valentine’s Day 1900 and the subsequent investigation. Keegan DeWitt is reuniting with director Robert Greene on the upcoming documentary Bisbee ’17. The film centers on an old mining town on the Arizona-Mexico border that finally reckons with its darkest day: the deportation of 1200 immigrant miners exactly 100 years ago. Douglas Tirola (DRUNK STONED BRILLIANT DEAD: The Story of the National Lampoon), Susan Bedusa (Actress) and Bennett Elliott are producing the project. Dominic Frontiere has passed away this past Thursday at age 86 in Tesuque, New Mexico. The composer has composed the scores to numerous movies over a five decade-spanning career, including 1980’s The Stunt Man, for which he received a Golden Globe Award, as well as 1994’s Color of Night, for which he also co-wrote the Golden Globe-nominated song The Color of the Night. The coming-of-age drama is set on the South Side of Chicago and follows a group of residents who become linked by coincidence. Already playing in theaters since Wednesday is the action adventure comedy Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle directed by Jake Kasdan and starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas and Bobby Cannavale. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Big Hero 6, Kong: Skull Island, Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class).
