Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the action thriller sequel The Equalizer 2 directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Unstoppable, Man on Fire) who previously scored the 2014 original movie has composed the film’s original score. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music today. Check out our previous news article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the movie musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again directed by Ol Parker and starring Lily James, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Barankski, Jeremy Irvine, Jessica Keenan Wynn Andy Garcia and Cher. The film’s original score is composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X). Polydor Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie. Keegan DeWitt to Score Facebook Watch’s ‘Sorry for Your Loss’

Keegan DeWitt is composing the original score for the upcoming Facebook Watch original series Sorry for Your Loss. The show is created by Kit Steinkellner and stars Elizabeth Olsen, Kelly Marie Tran, Janet McTeer, Jovan Adepo and Mamoudou Athie. The comedy revolves around a young widow as she deals with the grief of losing her husband while reconnecting with relationships of her past. Steinkellner is also executive producing the Big Beach TV production with Robin Schwartz & Marc Turtletaub (Vida), Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, Safety Not Guaranteed), Cynthia Pett, Brad Petrigala, Jon Liebman (Resurrection), as well as James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, Smashed) who also directed the first episode. Thomas Newman’s Main Theme & End Titles Music from Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock’ Released

WaterTower Music has released the main titles theme and the end titles music from the new Hulu original series Castle Rock. Both tracks are composed by Academy Award nominee Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, Skyfall, Road to Perdition, The Green Mile, Finding Nemo). Castle Rock is developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason and stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. ‘The More You Ignore Me’ Soundtrack Released

Globe Productions has released a soundtrack album for the British comedy The More You Ignore Me. The album features the film’s original music composed by Guy Garvey & Peter Jobson and Paul Saunderson (Three Identical Strangers, Starfish, 100 Streets). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The More You Ignore Me is directed by Keith English and stars Sheridan Smith, Ella Hunt, Jo Brand (who also wrote the screenplay based on her novel of the same title), Mark Addy, Sally Phillips, Sheila Hancock, Tom Davis and Ricky Tomlinson. Milan Records has the main titles theme of the HBO original series Succession. The track is written and performed by Academy Award nominee Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, Battle of the Sexes, The Big Short, Free State of Jones). ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Season 3 Soundtrack Album Details

WaterTower Music will release a new soundtrack album for the CW musical comedy drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The album features the original songs from the show’s third season written by Rachel Bloom, Adam Schlesinger and Jack Dolgen and performed by cast members including Bloom herself, Donna Lynne Champlin, Vincent Rodriguez III, Scott Michael Foster, Gabrielle Ruiz, Pete Gardner, Vella Lovell, Michael McMillian, David Hull and guest stars Bayne Gibby, Eddie Pepitone, Amy Hill, Paul Welsh & Michael Hyatt. Also included are previously unreleased tracks, including three demo versions, the cut song Settle for Her performed by Foster and writer Ilana Peña’s “earnest version” of The Moment Is Me. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Good Doctor, Beasts of No Nation, Atypical, Easy). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 20 and will be available to download on Amazon. Zoe is directed by Doremus (Like Crazy) and stars Ewan McGregor, Lea Seydoux, Rashida Jones, Theo James, Christina Aguilera and Miranda Otto. The details of the score album for the animated feature Animals Crackers have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Colossal, Happy Death Day). No release date has been announced yet for the soundtrack, which will be released by Sony Classical. As previously reported, The label will also release a separate album featuring the songs from the movie and selections of McCreary’s score. Animal Crackers is directed by Scott Christian Sava & Tony Bancroft and features the voices of Emily Blunt, Danny DeVito, Ian McKellen, Sylvester Stallone, Raven-Symoné, Patrick Warburton and Wallace Shawna. ‘Teen Titans Go! To the Movies’ Soundtrack Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature Teen Titans Go! To the Movies have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jared Faber (Splitting Up Together, Suburgatory, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants), including the composer’s score and the original songs, which he co-wrote with Jacob Jeffries, Michael Jelenic and Peter Rida Michail. Jeff Cardoni to Score Netflix’s ‘Huge in France’

Jeff Cardoni has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original series Huge in France. The show is created by French comedy star Gad Elmaleh, Jarrad Paul & Andy Mogel (The D-Train, Yes Man, Allen Gregory) and follows Elmaleh as he moves to LA to reconnect with his son and must learn to live without the celebrity perks he’s accustomed to in France. Elmaleh, Paul & Mogel are also producing the project. Cardoni has previously scored the Paul- & Mogel-created Fox comedy The Grinder.  Read the rest of this entry »
