Legacy Recordings has released a soundtrack album in two different versions featuring a selection of the songs from the movie by artists such as the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Randy Travis & others. Premiering on Thursday, September 19, is the comedy First Wives Club developed by Tracy Oliver based on the 1996 movie of the same title and starring Ryan Michelle Bathe, Jill Scott and Michelle Buteau. Chris Alan Lee (Younger, No Good Nick) is composing the show’s original score. Singer/songwriter Caitlyn Smith, actress Mary Steenburgen and songwriter Kate York (Nashville) have written an original song for the upcoming British comedy drama Country Music. The film is directed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, War & Peace, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) and stars Jessie Buckley, Sophie Okonedo, Julie Walters, James Harkness and folk musician Neill McColl. The movie revolves around a young Scottish singer who dreams of making it as a country artist in Nashville after being released from prison.
