Composer Brett Detar is reuniting with director William Brent Bell on the upcoming horror sequel Brahms: The Boy 2. The film starring Katie Holmes, Christopher Convery, Owain Yeoman and Ralph Ineson centers on a young family that moves into Heelshire Mansion, unaware of its dark history, as the young child bonds with an eerie, life-like doll he calls Brahms. Detar has previously collaborated with Bell (Stay Alive) on the features The Devil Inside and Wer. The original 2016 The Boy movie was scored by Bear McCreary. Brahms: The Boy 2 is currently scheduled to be released on December 6, 2019 by STX Entertainment.

Detar also has Bell’s supernatural thriller Separation starring Rupert Friend, Mamie Gummer, Madeline Brewer, Violet McGraw and Brian Cox coming up. The movie revolves around a young girl who finds solace in her artist father and the ghost of her dead mother. Nick Amadeus and Joshua Braun wrote the screenplay. Bell is also producing the project wit Jordan Yale Levine & Jordan Beckerman (Crypto, Burn), Russ Posternak, Jesse Korman, Clay Pecorin (The Big Wedding) and Russell Geyser. A release in 2020 is expected.
