Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for Walt Disney World’s themed area Pandora: The World of Avatar. The album features the music written by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) and Simon Franglen (The Magnificent Seven, Peppermint) for the attractions located in the themed area. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples. Gaumont and Légende Films have released a soundtrack album for the French/Belgian historical comedy drama Edmond. The album features the film’s original music composed by Romain Trouillet (Sauvage). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to to audio clips. A CD version will also be released overseas. Edmond is written and directed by Alexis Michalik and stars Thomas Solivérès, Olivier Gourmet, Mathilde Seigner and Tom Leeb. The movie based on Michalik’s hit stage play of the same title is set against the vibrant backdrop of Belle Epoque Paris and revolves around the writing of the world famous play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand in 1897. Andrew Hewitt is composing the original music for the upcoming thriller Villains. The film is directed by Dan Berk & Robert Olsen (The Stakelander, Body) and stars Bill Skarsgard, Maika Monroe, Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Donovan. The movie follows two amateur criminals who, after breaking into a suburban home, stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out. The album features the film’s original music composed by Patrick Jonsson (Virunga, The White Helmets, Black Earth Rising). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 4 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. On Her Shoulders is directed by Alexandria Bombach and focuses on Nadia Murad, who survived the 2014 genocide of the Yazidis in Northern Iraq and escaped sexual slavery at the hands of ISIS. The show is created by Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity, Brooklyn), directed by Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liaisons, The Queen, Philomena) and stars Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd. The comedy follows a couple who meet at a pub immediately before their weekly marital therapy session. The show is created by Mike Daniels (Shades of Blue, Sons of Anarchy) and stars Moran Atias, Dominic Chianese, Warren Christie, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Daren Kagasoff, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint and Grace Van Dien. The series follows the residents of a Manhattan apartment building. Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle) has been tapped to score the upcoming indie comedy drama Buffaloed. The film is directed by Tanya Wexler (Hysteria, Finding North) and stars Zoey Deutch, Jermaine Fowler, Judy Greer and Jai Courtney. The movie follows a hustler who decides to become a debt collector and wages war with the “kingpin” of debt collecting in Buffalo. Brian Sacca wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Mason Novick (500 Days of Summer, Bad Words) & Finemore (Crawlspace) for Lost City and Jeffrey Katz & Michael Bannor MacGregor for Bold Crayon. Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary General Magic. The album features the film’s original music composed by Benji Merrison (Dynasties). Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Adrift, Patrick Melrose, Gunpowder) has signed on to score the upcoming limited series The Name of the Rose. The 8-parter stars John Turturro, Michael Emerson, Rupert Everett, Damian Hardung, Sebastian Koch, James Cosmo, Richard Sammel, Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Greta Scarano. The drama based on Umberto Eco’s novel (which has previously been adapted into a movie version scored by James Horner) is set in Italy in 1327 and follows a Franciscan monk and his novice as they arrive at a secluded monastery in the Alps, where they become witnesses to a series of mysterious murders.
