Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the British series Informer. The album features the show’s original music written by Ilan Eshkeri (Layer Cake, Stardust, Still Alice, 47 Ronin, The Young Victoria) who composed his score as five stand-alone pieces of music. The score, which features vocals by Daisy Chute, former member of the classical cross over vocal quartet All Angels and is performed by Sinfonia Nord & conducted by Atli Örvarsson, is made up from variations of these pieces of music. ‘The Favourite’ Soundtrack Album Released

Decca Records has released a soundtrack album for Yorgos Lanthimos’ comedy drama The Favourite. The album features the music from the movie by composers such as George Frideric Handel, Luc Ferrari, Antonio Vivaldi, Anna Meredith, Johann Sebastian Bach, among others. Also included is the harpsichord version of Elton John’s song Skyline Pigeon. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. A CD version will be available to order here within the next couple of days. The Favourite starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, Mark Gatiss, James Smith and Jenny Rainsford centers on the bitter battle between cousins to be the court favorite during the reign of Queen Anne in the early 18th century. Michael Giacchino to Collaborate with Brad Bird on Original Musical

Brad Bird revealed in an interview with Variety on the red carpet at this year’s BAFTA Tea Party this past Saturday that he is collaborating with composer Michael Giacchino on an original musical, which will be the director’s next project and will contain about 20 minutes of animation. No other details have been announced yet. Giacchino has previously composed the original score for Bird’s last five features, The Incredibles, Ratatouille (for which the composer received an Academy Award nomination), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Tomorrowland and last year’s Incredibles 2. Justin Hurwitz Wins Golden Globe for ‘First Man’

Justin Hurwitz has received his third Golden Globe Award in the Original Score category for Damien Chazelle’s First Man. He previously won two Golden Globes for both score and song for Chazelle’s La La Land. The other composers nominated in the Best Original Score category were Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns), Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther), Alexandre Desplat (Isle of Dogs) and Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place). In the Original Song category, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando & Andrew Wyatt won the award for the song Shallow from A Star Is Born. Check out the acceptance speeches after the jump. Premiering on Tuesday, January 8, is the History original series Project Blue Book created by David O’Leary, executive produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Aidan Gillen, Laura Mennell, Michael Harney, Ksenia Solo and Michael Malarkey. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Wohl (Search Party, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead). The drama is based on the true, top-secret investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and related phenomena conducted by the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1969. Another show premiering on Tuesday is the Freeform original series Good Trouble created by Joanna Johnson, Bradley Bredeweg & Peter Paige and starring Maia Mitchell, Cierra Ramirez, Tommy Martinez, Zuri Adele, Sherry Cola and Roger Bart. The only new movie opening nationwide this week is the psychological thriller Escape Room directed by Adam Robitel and starring Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, Tyler Labine, Nik Dodani and Yorick van Wageningen. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Furious 7, Crazy Rich Asians, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron) and John Carey. Opening in limited release is the indie thriller State Like Sleep written and directed by Meredith Danluck and starring Katherine Waterston, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Michiel Huisman and Mary Kay Place. David Wingo (Loving, Mud, Take Shelter, Barry) & Jeff McIlwain (Snow Angels, Joe, The Sitter) have composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. John Powell (The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet, X-Men: The Last Stand) has revealed the track list of the soundtrack album for the animated sequel How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The album features the film’s original written by the Academy Award-nominated composer who has previously scored the first two installments in the How to Train Your Dragon series. Also included is the new song Together From Afar performed by Jónsi. The soundtrack will be released on February 1 by Back Lot Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (CD version) and here (digital version). How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is directed by Dean DeBlois and features the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Kit Harrington, Craig Ferguson and F. Murray Abraham.
