Hollywood Records and Marvel Music will release the official soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump) who previously scored the original Avengers movie, as well as last year’s Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: The First Avenger. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 26 and will be available to download here. A CD version is set to come out on May 24 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Avengers: Endgame is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. A soundtrack album has been released for the Irish thriller The Dig. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Everett. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Dig is directed by Ryan & Andy Tohill and stars Moe Dunford, Emily Taaffe, Francis Magee and Lorcan Cranitch. The movie centers on a paroled, amnesiac killer as he is confronted by his victim’s father. The thriller was shown at various film festivals over the last year (including at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Galway Film Fleadh, where it won Best Irish Feature) and is being released in Irish theaters this weekend. The movie set in Athens and the Epirus region of Greece, where a vacationing couple fall trap to a violent conspiracy with tragic consequences. Kevin Rice wrote the screenplay. The Academy has announced the updated rules for next year’s 92nd Academy Awards and confirmed that the short lists that were reintroduced last year in both “Original Score” and “Original Song” music categories will return for next year’s Oscars. The new procedure in the nomination phase generated mixed reactions last year, with some parties feeling movies and their respective songs/scores that are released at the very end of the year are being disadvantaged, while others welcomed the spotlight placed on ten additional scores/songs that appeared on the short lists but ultimately were not nominated. Waxwork Records has announced a release of the original score from Alex Ross Perry’s musical drama Her Smell.
