Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli, Triple 9) have recently scored the upcoming Netflix original movie Earthquake Bird. The film is written and directed by Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice, Colette) and stars Alicia Vikander, Riley Keough, Jack Huston and Naoki Kobayashi. The thriller is based on Susanna Jones’ novel of the same title and tells the story of young female expat who is suspected of murder after her friend goes missing in the wake of a tumultuous love triangle with a handsome local photographer. Kevin Walsh (Manchester by the Sea, All the Money in the World) & Michael Pruss (Equals, Zoe) are producing the project for Scott Free, alongside Ann Ruark (Wildlife, The Beaver) and Georgina Pope. Madison Gate Records will release a new soundtrack album for the YouTube Premium series Cobra Kai. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Leo Birenberg (Son of Zorn, Red Army, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny) & Zach Robinson (F*&% the Prom). Also included is Kari Kimmel’s cover of Bananarama’s Cruel Summer as featured in the Season 2 teaser trailer. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 24 and will be available to download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score for the first season (with La-La Land Records handling the CD version). Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1994 family adventure Iron Will directed by Charles Haid and starring Mackenzie Astin, Kevin Spacey, David Ogden Stiers, George Gerdes, Brian Cox, Penelope Windust and August Schellenberg. The album features the expanded original score from the Walt Disney Pictures production composed and conducted by Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Orville, Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), including almost 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. Premiering tomorrow, April 22, is the HBO and BBC series Gentleman Jack created by Sally Wainwright and starring Suranne Jones, Sophie Rundle, Gemma Whelan, Timothy West, Jeremy Lister and Gemma Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Death at a Funeral, A Very English Scandal). This past week, Gregoire Hetzel (Incendies, Summertime, The Midwife) has recorded his music for the upcoming French thriller Oh Mercy! (Roubaix, une lumière). The film is written and directed by Arnaud Desplechin (Esther Khan, Jimmy P.) and stars Roschdy Zem, Antoine Reinartz, Léa Seydoux and Sara Forestier.
