Dan Romer (Luca, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Lilo & Stitch, Station Eleven, Beasts of No Nation, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, Superman & Lois,Superman & Lois,The Good Doctor) has recently scored the upcoming animated feature Tangles. The film is directed by Leah Nelson and features the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Abbi Jacobson, Bryan Cranston, Seth Rogen, Beanie Feldstein, Samira Wiley, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Pamela Adlon, Bowen Yang and Fern Grandin. The movie tells the story of a woman who leaves her exciting life as an activist and artist in 1990s San Francisco to return to her eccentric family in the conservative small town she recently fledwhen Alzheimer’s begins to erode her mother’s vibrant personality. Nelson also co-wrote the screenplay with Trev Renney based on Sarah Leavitt’s graphic memoir of the same title. Rogen & Louis-Dreyfus are also producing the Monarch Media, Point Grey Pictures, Giant Ant Films & LYLAS Pictures production with Vicky Patel, Steve Barnett & Alan Powell (A Week Away, Valiant One) . Tangles is premiering this week at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Romer’ upcoming feature projects also include Drake Doremus’ feature Next Life coming up. He has also has the Netflix series Little House on Prairie coming up and is also expected to score the second season of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
