Milan Records has released the second soundtrack album for the National Geographic docu-series Hostile Planet. The album features more music from the show composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Hellboy). The Vol. 2 album, entitled Jungles and Grasslands, is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The first album (Mountains and Oceans) was released earlier this month and a third album (Deserts and Polar) will be coming out next month. Hostile Planet hosted by Bear Grylls and executive produced by Guillermo Navarro looks at animals surviving at the extremes of different environments, in mountains, oceans, grasslands, jungles, deserts, and polar regions. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller The Curse of La Llorona directed by Michael Chaves and starring Linda Cardellini, Patricia Velasquez and Raymond Cruz. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle, Insidious, The Prodigy). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Already playing in theaters since Wednesday is the faith-based drama Breakthrough directed by Roxann Dawson and starring Chrissy Metz, Josh Lucas, Topher Grace, Mike Colter, Sam Trammell, Marcel Ruiz and Dennis Haysbert. Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Affair, The Good Shepherd) has composed the film’s original score. Fox Music has released as soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for more details). Wayfind Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Hail Satan?. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian McOmber (It Comes at Night, Little Woods, Krisha, Ugly) featuring Angel Deradoorian and Jordan Dykstra. Hail Satan? is directed by Penny Lane and charts the rise of The Satanic Temple, a mysterious organization led by Lucien Greaves that is calling for a Satanic revolution to save the nation’s soul. Mateo Messina (Juno, Blockers, Butter, Barely Lethal) has signed on to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Tall Girl. The film is directed by Nzingha Stewart and stars Ava Michelle, Griffin Gluck, Luke Eisner, Sabrina Carpenter, Paris Berelc, Anjelika Washington, Steve Zahn, Angela Kinsey, Clara Wilsey and Rico Paris. The comedy centers on a six-foot-tall girl as she tries to make her way through high school feeling like an outcast. Sam Wolfson wrote the screenplay. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation), Mary Viola (The Duff, I Feel Pretty, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) & Corey Marsh are producing the project for Wonderland.
