A soundtrack album has been released for the thriller Daughter of the Wolf. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jeff Toyne (RogueDirty Girl9/11You Me Her, Life on the Line, Hit the Road). Daughter of the Wolf is directed by David Hackl and stars Gina Carano, Brendan Fehr, Richard Dreyfuss, Anton Gillis-Adelman and Sydelle Noel. Deadline is reporting that singer/songwriter Santigold is set to compose the music for the upcoming musical fantasy The Kyd’s Exquisite Follies. The film is directed by Dee Rees (Mudbound, Pariah, Bessie) and centers on “a young musician who catapults herself from the anonymity of her hometown of Same Ol’, Same Ol’ to the bright lights and plastic sights of the fabled It City, in search of stardom”. Rees is also writing the screenplay and Cassian Elwes (Lee Daniels’ The Butler, The Paperboy, Elvis & Nixon) is producing the project. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Stray’ Soundtrack Album Released

1/X has released a soundtrack album for the supernatural thriller Stray. The album features the film’s original music composed by Trevor Doherty. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Stray is directed by Joe Sill and stars Christine Woods, Karen Fukuhara and Miyavi. The movie follows an orphaned teenager who teams up with the detective investigating her mother’s murder and soon discovers a supernatural force threatening the city. Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Boy ErasedThe GiftEnemy, Martha Marcy May Marlene) have composed a new score for the drama The Current War. The film is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Shannon, Katherine Waterston, Nicholas Hoult, Tuppence Middleton, Matthew Macfayden and Tom Holland. MovieScore Media has released has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi drama Solis. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by David Stone Hamilton (88, The Jurassic Games). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. A CD version is in the works from Perseverance Records. Solis is written and directed by Carl Strathie and stars Steven Ogg and Alice Lowe. RCA Records and The Null Corporation have released the songs from the Black Mirror episode Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too. The tracks On a Roll and Right Where I Belong, which were both originally written by Trent Reznor for Nine Inch Nails and adapted for the episode by series creator Charlie Brooker, are performed by Ashley O (played by Miley Cyrus in the show). Eric Neveux (The Insult, The Attack, A Stork’s Journey, ZombillenniumSpirou & Fantasio’s Big Adventures) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated feature SamSam. The film  directed by Tanguy de Kermel is based on the comic books created by Serge Bloch and the animated TV series of the same title and follows the title character as he is conscientiously seeking his first-ever superpower but is winding up empty-handed every time. The show is developed by Sam Levinson (Assassination NationThe Wizard of Lies) based on the Israeli show of the same name and stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King and Storm Reid. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action comedy Men in Black: International directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Larry Bourgeois, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (BatmanSpider-ManAlice in Wonderland) & Chris Bacon (Source CodeGnomeo & Juliet).
