Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Stranger Things. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s third season composed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 28 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical version is also in the works. The label has previously released soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s score from the show’s first and second season. Legacy Recordings will release a separate soundtrack featuring songs from Season 3 of the series created by Matt & Ross Duffer and starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton. The full details of the soundtrack album for Pixar’s Toy Story 4 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Randy Newman (Monsters, Inc., A Bug’s Life, Cars, The Natural, Avalon) who previously scored all the previous Toy Story movies. Also included are two new original songs written by Newman: The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy (performed in an end credits version by Chris Stapleton) and I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away, as well as a new version of You’ve Got a Friend in Me. Joseph Shirley & Ludwig Goransson have been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Bad Trip. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show) and stars Eric Andre, Lil Rel Howery and Tiffany Haddish. The movie follows two best friends who go on a cross-country road trip full of inventive pranks, pulling its real-life audience into the mayhem. Netflix has announced today that Branford Marsalis is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The film is directed by George C. Wolfe (Lackawanna Blues) and stars Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo and Michael Potts. The film is based on the award-winning play by August Wilson (Fences) and centers on Ma Rainey, the “Queen of the Blues,” as she makes a record in a studio in Chicago, 1927, when tensions boil between her, her white agent and producer, and bandmates.
