Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings have announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool. The album features from and inspired by the film by Miles Davis, including a previously unreleased recording, Hail To the Real Chief. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on February 21, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool is directed and produced by Stanley Nelson and centers on the life and career of the musical and cultural icon who defied categorization and embodied the word cool. The documentary premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and was released in select theaters this past summer by Abramorama. Visit the official movie website for more information.
