Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the thriller The Rental directed by Dave Franco and starring Dan Stevens, Alison Brie, Sheila Vand, Jeremy Allen White and Toby Huss. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, The Gift, Enemy, Boy Erased, Martha Marcy May Marlene). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Also opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD next Friday, July 31, is the thriller The Big Ugly written and directed by Scott Wiper and starring Vinnie Jones, Ron Perlman, Malcolm McDowell, Nicholas Braun and Leven Rambin. Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Roots,  11.22.63, Touching the Void) has composed the film’s original music. Hollywood Records has released the original song Let Me Move You from the Netflix original film Work It. The track is performed by the movie’s star Sabrina Carpenter, co-written by herself, Steph Jones, Mikkel Eriksen & Tor Hermansen and produced by Stargate. Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Tales from the Loop, Wormwood, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D) has been hired to score the upcoming comedy  Best Sellers. The film is directed by Lina Roessler and stars Michael Caine, Aubrey Plaza, Scott Speedman and Ellen Wong. The movie revolves around a has-been author who embarks on a wild book tour with a young editor trying to save her father’s boutique publishing house. Anthony Grieco wrote the screenplay. Walt Disney Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the Disney+ animated movie Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe. What a Beautiful Day is written by Karey Kirkpatrick & Dan Povenmire, produced by the film’s composer Danny Jacob and performed by Candace (voiced by Ashley Tisdale). The song is now available to stream and download as a digital single on Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump. ‘Offering to the Storm’ (‘Ofrenda a la tormenta’) Soundtrack Released

Atresmúsica has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish thriller Offering to the Storm (Ofrenda a la tormenta). The album features the film’s original music composed by Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, Hercules, Devil, Crimson Peak, A Monster Calls). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Quartet Records will release a CD version later this month. Offering to the Storm is directed by Fernando Gonzalez Molina and stars Marta Etura, Paco Tous, Pedro Casablanc, Elvira Mínguez, Susi Sánchez and Leonardo Sbaraglia. The movie is the third and final chapter in the Invisible Guardian trilogy and follows Amaia Salazar as she is called in to investigate the death of a still-born baby girl and the arrest of the child’s father. Justin Burnett is returning as the composer for the upcoming romantic drama After We Collided, the sequel to last year’s After. The film is directed by Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions, The Sweetest Thing) and stars Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Dylan Sprouse, Charlie Weber, Candice King, Karimah Westbrook, Rob Estes, Shane Paul McGhie, Samuel Larsen, Dylan Arnold and Khadijha Red. The movie is based on the YA romance novel by Anna Todd who also wrote the sequel’s screenplay with Mario Celaya. Todd is also producing the Voltage Pictures production with Jennifer Gibgot (Tangled, Step Up), Mark Canton (300, Immortals), Courtney Solomon (Cake, Mr. Church), Nicholas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Colossal) and Brian Pitt. Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the action thriller I Am Vengeance. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by the electronic rock band Greenhaus (Steve Bellamy, Anthony Neale, Warren Farr and Ian Medany). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 31, 2020 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon. I Am Vengeance is written and directed by Ross Boyask and stars Stu Bennett, Kevin Leslie, Gary Daniels, Anna Shaffer, Bryan Larkin and Kevin Leslie. The movie revolves around an ex-soldier turned mercenary who sets off on a mission to find out what happened to his best friend who was killed and sets about taking down those responsible one by one. ‘How to Build a Girl’ Soundtrack EP to Be Released

Globe will release a soundtrack EP for the coming-of-age comedy How to Build a Girl. The 6-track EP features the songs from the movie performed by actor Alfie Allen, as well as GIRLI and Casimir Bowyer. Also included is a track from the original score from the film composed by Oli Julian (Catastrophe, Breeders, Code 404, Sex Education, Episodes). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 24 and will be available to stream/download here. How to Build a Girl is directed by Coky Giedroyc and stars Beanie Feldstein, Allen, Paddy Considine, Chris O’Dowd, Lucy Punch and Jameela Jamil. The movie is based on British author Caitlin Moran’s semiautobiographical novel of the same title and follows a working-class teenager who tries to reinvent herself as a hip London music critic. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Martin Dirkov (Border, Shelley, The Charmer). Don Hardy’s ‘Citizen Penn’ to Feature Original Song Written by Linda Perry and Bono

Linda Perry and Bono have written an original song for the upcoming documentary Citizen Penn. The track, entitled Eden: To Find Love, is performed by Bono and will be featured during the film’s end credits. Perry has also composed the original score for the movie, which is directed by Don Hardy (Pick of the Litter) and revolves around actor and filmmaker Sean Penn’s efforts following the devastating 7.0 earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010. The documentary chronicles the moment Penn arrives on the island, and the ten years since, as Penn the humanitarian carts supplies, builds tents, procures medicine, and calls on his Hollywood friends to join with financial support.
