Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21/22 Jump Street, Hotel Transylvania) has been tapped to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming animated sequel The Croods: A New Age. The film is directed by Joel Crawford (Trolls Holiday) and features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman, Clark Duke, Leslie Mann, Peter Dinklage and Kelly Marie Tran. The movie follows the title characters as they need a new place to live and set off into the world in search of a safer place to call home.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature The Croods directed by Chris Sanders & Kirk DeMicco and featuring the voice talent of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Shine Your Way performed by Yuna feat. Owl City earlier this week. Also opening wide is the action thriller Olympus Has Fallen directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Gerard Butler, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, Cole Hauser, Radha Mitchell and Rick Yune. ‘The Croods’ Soundtrack Announced
A soundtrack album for Dreamworks Animations’s The Croods has been announced. The album features the film’s score composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers), as well as the original song Shine Your Way by Owl City feat. Yuna. The soundtrack will be released overseas on March 18, 2013 by Sony Classical. A physical domestic release is set for March 26, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Croods is directed by Chris Sanders & Kirk DeMicco and features the voice talent of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. The movie will be released on March 22, 2013.
Alan Silvestri to Score Dreamworks Animation’s ‘The Croods’
Alan Silvestri has revealed in a recent interview with Hollywood.com that he is attached to score Dreamworks Animation’s upcoming feature The Croods. The film written and directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicare follows The Croods, an introverted family, who find themselves guided out of their cave into this dynamic world by a resourceful newcomer who may bring more stress than relief to the patriarch of the family. The film’s voice talent includes Ryan Reynolds, Nicolas Cage, Catherine Keener, Emma Stone, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. The 3D animated feature is produced by Kristine Belson (How to Train Your Dragon) and Jane Hartwell (Shrek). The movie marks Silvestri’s first project for Dreamworks Animation. He has previously collaborated with Chris Sanders on Disney’s 2002 feature Lilo and Stitch.
