The full details of the soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s feature The Wild Robot have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (Bridgeton, King Richard, Green Book, Secret Invasion, Haunted Mansion, The Color Purple, Dear White People, Space Jam: A New Legacy). Also included is the original song Kiss the Sky co-written and performed by Maren Morris (previously released as a digital single), as well as the end credits song Even When I’m Not by the singer/songwriter. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 27 by Back Lot Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Kris Bowers (King Richard, Green Book, Secret Invasion, Haunted Mansion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Color Purple, Dear White People) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated feature The Wild Robot. The film is written and directed by Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch, The Croods) and features the voices of Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry, Mark Hamill and Ving Rhames. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Peter Brown follows the journey of a robot that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD club series, including a deluxe edition soundtrack for DreamWorks Animation’s 2010 original How to Train Your Dragon movie directed by Chris Sanders & Dean DeBlois and starring Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig. The album features the complete Academy Award-nominated original score from the film composed by John Powell (The Bourne Identity, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet), including previously unreleased music, alternate versions and demos. John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, X-Men: The Last Stand) has revealed the full details of the soundtrack album for the adventure drama The Call of the Wild. The album features the film’s original music written by the Academy Award-nominated composer. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 21, 2020 by Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Call of the Wild is directed by Chris Sanders and stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodel. The movie is based on Jack London’s classic novel and tells the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s.
John Powell to Score Chris Sanders’ ‘Call of the Wild’
John Powell is reteaming with director Chris Sanders (The Croods, Lilo & Stitch) on the upcoming adventure drama Call of the Wild. The film stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford, Cara Gee and Omar Sy. The movie is based on Jack London’s 1903 novel and tells the story of a sled dog that tries to survive the Alaskan wilderness as well as a series of abusive owners. Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) wrote the screenplay. Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow, Unbroken) is producing the project.
Alan Silvestri to Score Dreamworks Animation’s ‘The Croods’
Alan Silvestri has revealed in a recent interview with Hollywood.com that he is attached to score Dreamworks Animation’s upcoming feature The Croods. The film written and directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicare follows The Croods, an introverted family, who find themselves guided out of their cave into this dynamic world by a resourceful newcomer who may bring more stress than relief to the patriarch of the family. The film’s voice talent includes Ryan Reynolds, Nicolas Cage, Catherine Keener, Emma Stone, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. The 3D animated feature is produced by Kristine Belson (How to Train Your Dragon) and Jane Hartwell (Shrek). The movie marks Silvestri’s first project for Dreamworks Animation. He has previously collaborated with Chris Sanders on Disney’s 2002 feature Lilo and Stitch.
