Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Robert Eggers’ horror thriller The Lighthouse. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Korven (Cube, The Terror: Infamy, In the Tall Grass, Our House) who previously scored the director’s last feature The Witch. Philip Glass (The Hours, Notes on a Scandal, Naqoyqatsi) and Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Wormwood) are teaming up to score the upcoming Amazon original series Tales from the Loop. The sci-fi drama based is developed by Nathaniel Halpern (Legion) based on the art of Simon Stålenhag. Rebecca Hall has been cast as the female lead of the show, which explores the town and people who live above “The Loop,” a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. It was announced today that BAFTA-nominated composer Christopher Gunning (La Vie en Rose, Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Grace of Monaco) will come out of retirement to score the upcoming biographical drama The United States vs. Billie Holiday. The film is directed by Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler, Empire) and stars Andra Day in the title role of Billie Holiday, alongside Trevante Rhodes, Garrett Hedlund and Natasha Lyonne. The movie is inspired by the 2015 New York Time bestseller Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs and will follow the jazz singer during her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics with an undercover sting operation.
