Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama Atlantics (Atlantique). The album features the film’s original music composed by Fatima Al Qadiri. The soundtrack is now available to download in French music stores (click here to check out audio samples) and will be released in the U.S. and other markets on November 15 (visit Amazon to pre-order the album). Atlantics is directed by Mati Diop and stars Mama Sané, Amadou Mbow, Ibrahima Traoré, Nicole Sougou, Amina Kane, Mariama Gassama and Coumba Dieng. The movie, which has just been selected as Senegal’s candidate for the Best International Feature category for next year’s Academy Awards, centers on the blossoming love between, a young construction worker and a woman who is about to be forced into an unwanted arranged marriage with a wealthier man. Siddhartha Khosla and Jeff Garber are composing the original score for the new CW drama Nancy Drew. The show is based on the book series of the same title created by Edward Stratemeyer and stars Kennedy McMann, Scott Wolf, Alex Saxon, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Riley Smith and Alvina August. The series follows the brilliant teenaged detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine – until her mother’s untimely death derails her college plans. This week, Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth, Wrath of the Titans, Greta, The Devil’s Backbone) is recording his orchestral score for the upcoming drama Sound of Freedom. The film is directed by Alejandro Monteverde (Bella, Little Boy) and stars Jim Caviezel, Mira Sorvino, Eduardo Verastegui and Bill Camp. The movie tells the true story of Homeland Security agent Tim Ballard’s effort to rescue kidnapped children. The show is developed by Annie Weisman based on the original Endemol Shine Australia series from Jonathan Gavin & Imogen Banks and stars Brittany Snow, Timothy Hutton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Emily Osment, Mustafa Elzein, Mo McRae and Victoria Cartagena. The series revolves around an only child who finds her life turned upside down when her father is forced to reveal that over the course of his pioneering career as a fertility doctor, he used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children. Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1989 crime comedy drama Harlem Nights directed by Eddie Murphy who also stars in the movie, alongside Richard Pryor, Danny Aiello, Michael Lerner, Belinda Tolbert and Jasmine Guy. The album features the original music from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Academy Award winner Herbie Hancock (Round Midnight, Death Wish, Blow Up). Also included are the jazz standards by Duke Ellington, specifically recorded for the movie and produced by Hancock.
