The Chainsmokers have made their film scoring debut on the upcoming drama Words on Bathroom Walls. The EDM duo has co-scored the movie with composer Andrew Hollander (Waitress, Sleepwalk with Me, Gray Matters, Serious Moonlight). The movie is directed by Thor Freudenthal (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) and stars Charlie Plummer, Taylor Russell, Andy Garcia, AnnaSophia Robb, Beth Grant, Devon Bostick, Lobo Sebastian, Molly Parker and Walton Goggins. The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga have been revealed. The album features the songs from the movie performed by Will Ferrell, My Marianne, Demi Lovato, Erik Mjöne, Savan Kotecha, Anteros, Salvador Sobral & others. Also included is a score suite by the movie’s composer Atli Orvarsson (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Defending Jacob, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 26 by Arista Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bear McCreary has recently scored the upcoming action thriller Ava. The film is directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, Ma, The Girl on the Train) and stars Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Common, John Malkovich, Geena Davsi, Ioan Gruffudd and Joan Chen. The movie revolves around a deadly assassin who works for a black ops organization, traveling the globe specializing in high profile hits. When a job goes dangerously wrong she is forced to fight for her own survival. Matthew Newton wrote the screenplay. Golden Eagle Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the British drama Hurt by Paradise. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dalal Bruchmann and Jeff Franzel. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 26 and is now available for pre-order on Apple Music/iTunes. A first track was released earlier this month and is now available to stream/download here. Hurt by Paradise is directed by Greta Bellamacina who also stars in the movie, alongside Camilla Rutherford, Anna Brewster and Sadie Brown. Netflix announced today that Steven Price (Gravity, Our Planet, Fury, Suicide Squad, The Aeronauts, Wonder Park) is composing the original score for the upcoming animated musical Over the Moon. Christopher Curtis (Chaplin: The Musical), Marjorie Duffield and Helen Park (KPOP The Musical) have written original songs to the film, which is directed by Glen Keane (Dear Basketball) and features the voice talent of Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Robert G. Chiu, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Artt Butler and Sandra Oh. La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score from the 1993 thriller Sliver directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Sharon Stone, William Baldwin and Tom Berenger. The album features the original music from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Aviator, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo). ASCAP has announced the winners of the 2020 ASCAP Screen Music Awards, recognizing its top film, television and video game composers. The accolades will take place with the hashtag #ASCAPAwards on ASCAP’s Facebook, Twitter, and on Instagram @ASCAP and @ASCAPScreen. Each winner will be honored in a post that enables fans, friends and peers to join in congratulating the music creators that bring their favorite onscreen entertainment to life. This year’s Top Box Office Film honor went to Hans Zimmer for The Lion King remake. Siddhartha Khosla won Top Network Series award for NBC’s This Is Us, and Ruth Barrett took home the Top Cable Series honor for her score to the British series Victoria. Composer Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, John Wick, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen) will release his original soundtrack for the Netflix docu-series FightWorld. The album features the show’s original music by Bates who recorded his score at Capitol Studios in Hollywood with an all-star group of Los Angeles’ best musicians who improvised all of the music while reacting to picture.
