Bear McCreary has recently scored the upcoming action thriller Ava. The film is directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, Ma, The Girl on the Train) and stars Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Common, John Malkovich, Geena Davsi, Ioan Gruffudd and Joan Chen. The movie revolves around a deadly assassin who works for a black ops organization, traveling the globe specializing in high profile hits. When a job goes dangerously wrong she is forced to fight for her own survival. Matthew Newton wrote the screenplay. Chastain is also producing the project with Kelly Carmichael (The Chaperone), alongside Voltage Pictures’ Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe) & Dominic Rustam (I Feel Pretty). McCreary has previously scored Voltage’s Colossal, Welcome Home, Revolt and The Professor and the Madman for the producers. Ava is set to be released on September 25, 2020 by Vertical Entertainment.

McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day) also continues to score AMC’s The Walking Dead and Starz’s Outlander, which will return for new seasons. The composer has also recently composed the music for the seventh and final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which currently airs every Wednesday night on ABC, as well as the first season of TNT’s Snowpiercer, which airs Sunday nights.
